Chapter~2~Nervous/Truth
"Hey, John." smiled Shannon...Eve's eyes had locked with John's as he entered with Antonio Vega. "Get me a coffee, Antonio." John said softly. "Sure thing." Antonio patted his shoulder.
John walked towards them and Eve stood up. Instantly without thinking, they embraced in a hug and kissed. "I've missed you." she whispered in his ear. "What are you doing here, Eve?" he asked. "Here you go man." Antonio handed him the coffee. She looked into his blue eyes, "I came to visit." Eve said, but John knew when she was lying and she lyi lying now. "We gotta get back to the office." John walked by her, but she grabbed his arm. "Can we talk tomorrow?" Eve asked. "Sure...Shannon can bring you to the station, we'll have lunch." he smiled. "Great." she sat down next to Shannon.
"You know McBain?" asked River. "He's my boyfriend." Eve admitted. "They broke up when he was after some guy." Shannon mention. "But we got back together when he took a break. I never called him to let him know I was coming." she saw the food come.
Later that night..."Eve, I can take the couch." offered Shannon. "No, it's fine. Shannon...Thanks for not telling John why I'm here." Eve laid on the couch. "No problem. You told me not to tell him. I only told him you were coming to visit, but he's been so busy, I guess he forgot ." she laughed. She saw that Eve was a bit tense. "Eve, he'll protect you." Shannon sat on the coffee table. "He tried to protect Caitlin, but that didn't work. Shannon." Eve was nervous. Tomorrow she sees John for lunch and is going to have to tell him why she's here. "Everything will be fine. He's a cop." Shannon assured her. "Good night." they hugged.
~The Next Day~
"John, you have visitors." a girl said. "Thanks, Marcie...Let them in." John put some papers away and got up. "Eve." he hugged her again. "I gotta go. My afternoon class starts soon." Shannon touched her arm. "Thanks." Eve told her. "Come on...We'll g Rod Rodi's." John grabbed his jacket and escorted her out of his office. "Marcie Walsh, this is Evelyn Morris, my girlfriend. Evelyn this is Marcie." he said. "Hi, Evelyn." Marcie smiled. "Hello..Please call me Eve." she smiled. "We're going out to lunch." he told her.
