Cosette paced her room, knowing it wouldn't be long before Derg came to visit her. Her hands were moist with sweat from worry about what he would do. She had incured his wrath before, and it had always been painful. This time, though, she knew would be worse. He had warned her that if she didn't please this human, she would be tossed out. A shiver ran through bodybody as she thought about being out there on her own. Oricon was a rough place, and she had seen what happened to girls who no longer had the protection of their owners. Her life would be short.
The door creaked open and Cosette swallowed hard as Derg entered the room. After closing the door softly, he approached her and smiled warmly. "Cosette."
"I'm sorry," she started immediately, "I tried. I did. I don't know why he didn't want me."
"Shhhhhhh...," he said, touching her lips. His blue eyes roamed her face, and though his expression was mild, she knew him well enough to know that he was very angry. "I gave you a chance, child. More than one. I told you what would happen if you failed."
Tears filled her eyes as he dropped his hand. "Please don't. They'll kill me."
A dark laugh escaped his lips. "They'll do more than that, love. They'll rape you and humiliate you, and they'll do it painfully and repeatedly until you bleed from every part of your body. Then, if you're lucky, they will kill you."
"Give me another chance," she breathed, "Please."
"Too many have complained about your abilities. You show neither enjoyment nor fear. You don't serve my clients as they wish to be served. Therefore, you are of no use to me."
"I am," she wailed, grabbing his shirt, "Let me try again!"
Gripping her hands, he pushed her back then slapped her roughly across the face. His mild expression was gone, replaced by bitter anger. "I am tired of your begging."
Cosette touched her stinging cheek as tears rolled down her face. "I can do nothing else."
Derg smirked and came forward, pressing a finger under her chin and tilting her head up. "True. Begging seems to be a common trait of a whore."
A warm flush touched her skin. "Please don't throw me out."
He rubbed a finger up her jaw and tucked her hair behind her ear. "You are a lovely thing, Cosette. You know I think that. However, a whore is easily replaced."
She sniffed softly. "Have I not pleased you?"
He smiled. "You have. Many times." His hand moved down her neck to the neckline of her dress. "As have others."
"Is there nothing I can do?" Cosette bit her lip and tenderly pressed her hand against his crotch. "Nothing?"
Derg's smile grew and he laughed softly as his fingers traced her neckline. "My dear, I would never let you leave without one last round of fun."
She retracted her hand and frowned. There had been instances where he had been merciful, taking her into his bed in a slow and somewhat romantic manner. More often, though, he had been forceful and upleasant with her, using her body for his own purposes. As he looked down on her, she could see he would not budge on this. He was going to be rid of her, but not without taking complete advantage of her first.
She feared his roughness.
"Don't look so frightened," he said, "Actually, love, if you had shown this kind of respect and fear when in the presence of some of my clients, perhaps this would not be happening."
Cosette shook her head, but before she could speak he grabbed her and jerked her towards a desk on the far side of the room. She whimpered softly, tears streaming down her face, as he forced her over the edge of the wooden table.
One hand pressed into the centre of her back, holding her to the hard surface. His other hand pulled her dress up her thighs, bunching it around her waist, then roughly jerked her panties down her legs. Cosette pressed her hands to the desk, balancing herself and preparing for what he was going to do. It had happened before. She closed her eyes, waiting.
Derg kicked her legs apart. "You'll be thinking back on this with fondess when the others rape you with more than their cocks." She heard him undo his zipper and held her breath as one hand grabbed her hip.
Cosette cried out when he shoved himself into her unready body. He groaned deeply as his hand moved from her back to grip her other hip. Her breath was hard and the pain strong as he pulled back then thrust forward, repeatedly jerking her hips back as he entered her. He had no care for her comfort.
"Fuck,\ gro growled, sliding into her again and again. Cosette's pelvis began to bruise from being slammed against the edge of the table. Attempting to gain a more comfortable position, she pushed herself up on her hands. Derg took the opportunity and reached for her hair, snaking a hand in and yanking her back towards him.
Cosette cried out at the strain as her back his his chest. He didn't have much access to her in this position until a hand hit her midsection and forced her upwards. "Like that, bitch?" he hissed in her ear, pulling her hair back until her throat was bared to him. He bit at the tight flesh, marking her with his teeth.
Her breathing became laboured as she took the abuse with minimal crying. He groaned heavily against her ear as he shoved her back down to the table, keeping her hips up, pressed to his. Cosette hit the table with a groan, closing her eyes and wishing for the end.
Derg's movements became unfocused as the minutes wore on. Cosette could barely register which thrust did it, but soon he moaned deeply and met his release, emptying into her worn body.
He wasted no time removing himself. "You should learn to moan a little, honey," he said, closing his pants, "Silence makes you look disinterested."
Laughing, he walked away as she slid to the floor. He stopped at the door and looked back. "You might want to find a better outfit to go out in. Not that it would matter. I'll send Jehon in to escort you out."
When he closed the door, she let go of her composure. Laying her head down against her knees, she sobbed without control.

T'Pol looked decidely uncomfortable, Archer decided, as she entered the room he had been waiting in. "Are you alright?" he asked with a smirk as she looked up at him with wide eyes.
"I'm fine," she said darkly, sitting down beside him on the red couch provided. "Where is Lieutenant Reed?"
The Captain sighed. "He's not back yet. I got our supplies." He nudged the briefcase at his feet.
The Vulcan nodded. They sat in silence for several seconds before she spoke again. "How long do you think we will have to wait for the Lieutenant?"
Archer laughed softly. "I'm really not sure." As his expression sobered, he looked to T'Pol. "They offered you a man, right?"
The Sub-Commander's eyes jerked to his. She looked very much like she didn't want to speak of it, but his soft gaze made her relent. "Yes."
"Did he seem...scared?"
She frowned. "I'm not sure what you mean."
Shifting uncomfortably, Archer leaned towards her slightly. "The girl who was offered to me seemed...very frightened when I denied her. I think she was scared of Derg."
T'Pol's expression softened. "It would not surp me. me. I'm sure failure to please a client is frowned upon. But, in response to your question, no, the man who was...offered...to me did not look frightened."
He sat back and exhaled deeply. "I don't like it."
"There is nothing we can do," she replied.
"It bothers me," he said quietly, looking to the hall he had retreated from, "A lot."
She took him in, watching him closely. "I am sure she is not the only one who is mistreated here."
Archer nodded and bit the inside of his cheek. "You're probably right. But saving one is better than saving none."
"What do you intend to do?"
Footsteps in the hall stopped his reply. When Malcolm rounded the corner, both Archer and T'Pol stood. "Lieutenant," greeted the Vulcan in a sharp tone.
Reed grinned. "Sorry. She was a bit intense." He looked up at the Captain. "I assure you, sir, I did nothing unprofessional."
"I have no doubt," he said, "Was she upset that you didn't stay?"
The Security Chief looked a little surprised. "No, not really. She understood. Eventually." He smiled. "Why do you ask, sir?"
The Captain glanced at T'Pol. "The girl I was with seemed very upset when I refused her. Like she would be punished if I didn't want her." He looked to Reed. "I have a bad feeling about it. I don't just want to leave her to a fate I may have had a hand in."
Malcolm glanced between the two officers. "Are you suggesting we kidnap her?"
"That might not be necessary."
"Captain?" T'Pol frowned as Archer handed her the suitcase.
"Take care of this. I'll be right back."
Without another word, Archer left his officers and headed back down the hall. His mind spun about what he was doing, and why he was doing it. He knew he couldnsavesave everyone, and this girl knew nothing but this life. He wasn't even certain that she was in any danger. Still, though, something propelled him back to Derg's door.
He knocked upon the plain white door. Instead of it opening, though, a voice came from down the hall. "Captain Archer," said Derg as he approached, having exited another room further down the hallway, "Is something wrong with the merchandise I provided?"
"Not at all," he replied, turning, "I was just hoping we could do more business."
Derg's eyebrows raised. "Indeed? Of course, Captain. What do I possess that you are interested "
"
Archer hesitated, but forced himself to speak. "Cosette."
The alien frowned. "You have already denied her once. You now wish to have a session with her?"
He shook his head. "No. I want to take her."
Blinking, Derg cocked his head and smiled softly. "You want to purchase her?" When the Captain nodded, he asked, "Why?
\
"That's my own business. Is she available to be bought?"
"Of course. Any of my girls can be purchased, for the right price." Derg seemed less taken aback now.
Archer stepped forward. "And what is the right price?"
He didn't even pause to think. "Twelve canisters of uranium."
"Deal." Archer's stomach twisted a little, thinking about what he was doing. He was buying a person, trading for a material that could be used for anthing from fuel to weapons. Still, though, he needed to do this. Opening his communicator, he got in contact with Enterprise and ordered the supplies. "The canisters will be beamed down directly to your shop."
"I will send Jehon to check. I ask that you don't leave orbit until I get notification that they've arrived."
"Of course."
Derg licked his lips and walked down the hall. Opening the door he had exiearlearlier, he motioned to someone in the room. Archer's body tensed when Cosette walked out, looking disheveled and scared.
"It looks like you've been given another chance," he said to her as he moved her down the hallway. "You've been purchased."
Cosette looked up with quizzical eyes. "I don't understand."
"You don't have to," replied Derg, "You just have to obey." Looking up at the Captain, he said, "You will have to be strict with her. She has a tendency to...disappoint."
Archer nodded. "We'll leave now." Touching Cosette's shoulder, he led her towards the main room. Derg stayed behind.
Rubbing her arms, she looked back at her former owner and frowned as he entered his room. "You bought me?" she asked, looking up at Archer. He nodded silently and removed his hand.
As they rounded the corner, Cosette crossed her arms when the other officers came into view. "Cosette, this is Malcolm and T'Pol." He did not wait for anyone to speak. "Let's get back to the ship."
She noticed that both the man and woman looked quite concerned. Archer walked ahead, and T'Pol followed closely behind. Malcolm, though, stayed by her side. "Please," he said, motioning forward.
Cosette watched closely as Archer and T'Pol spoke. She could not hear them, but it was obvious that they were speaking of her. The woman she knew of as a Vulcan glanced back at her several times.
She didn't understand why the human had purchased her. Part of her was scared, wondering what his intentions were. The logical part of her brain, though, told her to be relieved. Whatever this human would do to her, it could be no worse than what she would have been subjected to had Derg forced her out into the population of Oricon.
"Don't worry," said the human beside her, "You'll be treated well on Enterprise."
Enterprise. She assumed that must be their ship's name. Her stomach clenched in anxiety. Cosette knew nothing but life with Derg, and now he had sold her. He did not sell his girls easily. Either Archer offered him a deal he could not refuse, or Derg really was finished with her. Both options caused tears to fill her eyes.
Averting her gaze downward, she tried to hide them as she followed trouproup quietly to their shuttlepod.
