What the future holds...

All day, Phoebe kept herself locked up in her room, telling her sisters that she needed was peace and quiet in order to complete her work. But her laptop was switched off right now and all she could think about was her premonition. She kept replaying it in her head, trying to make sure that she had seen the right faces, that Chris in her vision was with another woman, not sistsister Piper.

Chris had stated that he was from the future, where Wyatt had turned evil. He hadn’t shown any kind of particular attention towards Piper and it often seemed that he didn’t really have much interest in the Charmed ones - apart from helping them hunt demons, of course. Did he really have any interest in Piper or was her vision a mistake? No, her premonitions were always accurate. Perhaps in Chris’s future, that hadn’t happened yet...or had it?

"Just think," she mumbled to herself as she paced. "Has there been any indication so far that Piper and Chris are attracted to each other?" She thought hard. Mostly the only personal thing Piper asked Chris to do was babysit Wyatt. Was there anything more?

And then it suddenly hit her.

"Eureka!" she exclaimed and she heard Paige calling from outside, "Phoebe, are you okay in there?"

"Yes, I’m fine!" Phoebe exclaimed with a smile, making a mental note to pipe it down. Of course! Why hadn’t she seen it before? Wyatt used to put a protective shield around himself whenever Chris was around, therefore indicating that he disliked the whitelighter, obviously because, in a manner of speaking, Chris would replace Leo as his father. And Piper had also told Phoebe about how annoyed Chris had seemed when she had gone out with Seth. This explained so much already! Now the final thing for her to do was to ask Chris about this herself.

Wait. Should she do this? Would telling Chris that she knew hamper his relationship with the Charmed ones? Would it perhaps prevent Chris from ending up with Piper? She wasn’t sure how she felt about the two of them being a couple but she had the feeling that the two of them were meant to be together. The problem was, did Piper know this?

She decided to give this a shot and called him. "Chris," she said aloud. And immediately, he appeared in flashes of blue lights.

"You called?" he drawled with a bored voice but Phoebe had a good feeling that he was anxious about her vision earlier that morning so she decided to get to the point.

"Chris," begabegan, "I had a really...well...disturbing is not quite the word for it...um, I had a premonition that you and Piper were...er...together...in the uh...nuptial sense." She watched his expression carefully. He seemed to be waiting for what else she had to say. So she continued, "Just tell me, are you really...?"

"Yes, yes," he said in a hushed voice, his cool exterior vanishing. "Just...just don’t say anything to anyone about this, ok?"

"Not Piper?" she said, pleadingly.

"No," he replied.

"Not Paige?"

"No."

"Can’t I even give them a little hint about the two of you?"

"No!"

"Damn!" she said and sat on her bed. Then she looked up at him. "Was...is Piper happy with you in the future?"

For the first, she saw him smile in a very affectionate manner. "Yes, she is," he said softly, appearing to think of her and their life together.

Phoebe sighed. "Do you think she’s interested in you yet?" she couldn’t help sounding so anxious but she’d felt her sister’s pain throughout the entire divorce proceedings and she desperately wanted Piper to find happiness with a new love - even if it was with another whitelighter.

Chris chuckled and sat beside her. "Don’t worry," he assured her, "what’s meant to be will come to be."

"So I guess that you’re my brother-in-law, huh?"

"Not yet. But everything will happen when the time is right." He smiled.

Phoebe didn’t know what else to say after that; she was still digesting all this information. And conveniently, Chris returned to his usual self. He stood up and said in a bored voice, "Can I go now? Or do you want to interrogate me more?"

She nodded and dismissed him, too busy thinking of a plan. How would she get Piper to fall in love with Chris?
