Do You Want Me?
Title: Never Would’ve Guessed
Rating: R
Summary: Hyde’s been really depressed lately since Jackie left Point Place. But his future looks a little brighter (and more interesting) when Eric’s cousin Victoria comes for a visit.
Disclaimer: I don’t own “That 70’s Show” or anything associated with it. Tori’s all mine though. (And I wish Hyde was, too! LOL)
“Wow, she must’ve been some girl to make my best friend actually not want to brag.” Tori said with a smile.
Hyde smiled, even after all these years Tori could still tell exactly what he was thinking and feeling even when he was Zen.
“Yeah, well, it didn’t end too happily as you probably already know.” Hyde said as they walked down the hall to Laurie’s old room.
“You loved her, didn’t you?” Tori asked softly.
*Damn you, Tori.* he thought. “Yeah.” He replied just as softly.
He expected her to say, “It’s a good thing that she left, you deserve someone better.” Or “You’ll find someone else.” Or something stupid like that. But she didn’t. She just laid a gentle hand on his shoulder and gently whispered, “I’m sorry, Hyde.”
“Don’t be. You’re here now, you can keep me busy.” He told her flashing her his famous grin.
“I’ll try.” She replied returning the grin.
Hyde couldn’t believe it. After all these years she could still ease his pain.
“Hey, after you change you should come down to my room in the basement and I’ll fill you in on all the stuff you’ve missed.” Hyde suggested.
“I’d like that.” Tori smiled. “Just give me a half hour, okay?”
“Okay.” Hyde said. He turned to walk away but something came over him and he turned back around. She looked at him questioningly and he took her in his arms, hugging her tight. “I missed you.”
“I missed you, too.” Tori replied and hugged him back just as tight.
Reluctantly he pulled away from her and walked down the stairs. Tori smiled as she shut the door. He hadn’t changed a bit.
A HALF HOUR LATER
Hyde was in his looking at a nudie magazine waiting for Tori to come downstairs when he heard a knock on his door. At first he panicked, thinking it might be Red or Mrs. Forman. But when he looked up it was Tori standing there. She was his best friend but he still felt uncomfortable. I mean, best friend or not she was still a girl who had caught him staring at other naked girls.
But Tori eased the discomfort just like she always did with a joke. “You know those aren’t their real boobs, right?”
“Yeah, well . . .” Hyde said, still feeling a little embarrassed as she sat down next to him on the bed.
“Oh, come on, Hyde.” Tori said sensing his embarrassment. “I used to help you and Eric steal these, remember?”
“Yeah, you’d keep the clerk busy while we stuffed as many as we could in our backpacks.” Hyde laughed. “I remember.”
Tori laid her head on Hyde’s shoulder and sighed when he put his arm around her. They stayed like that for a minute or two before Hyde kissed the top of her head. This brought Tori back to her senses.
“You know, those magazines are so fake, it’s ridiculous.” Tori told him.
“Hey, they’re not all bad.” Hyde teased.
“Please!” Tori exclaimed as she rolled her eyes.
“Hey!” Hyde started to protest when Tori took his precious magazine off his lap and threw it to the floor. But he was cut off in the middle of his protest when Tori pressed her lips to his.
“Tori . . .” Hyde began, gently pushing her away. “Tori, I don’t wanna hurt you.”
“You won’t hurt me, Hyde.” Tori told him.
“Maybe not tonight.” Hyde replied. “But someday . . .”
“Do you want me?” Tori asked bluntly.
“Tori -” Hyde groaned.
“Answer the question, Hyde.” Tori told him seriously. “Do you want me?”
“Of course I do.” Hyde told her.
“Then what does it matter?” Tori asked. “You want me, I want you, and for tonight we can have each other.”
“Just for tonight?” Hyde asked.
“If you want.” Tori said. And he sighed and shifted uncomfortably. “Look, Hyde, I love you, okay? And I know that that probably scares you, but . . . I do. And I want you. Either for just tonight or for a month or for however long you want. The point is, I want you.” She paused a minute before continuing. “Once you figure out what you want, you know where to find me.” And with that said she jumped off the bed and bent down to pick up the magazine that was lying on the floor and handed it to him. “You might want this back.” Then she turned on her heel and walked out of the room.
Hyde groaned and closed his eyes. What the hell was he gonna do?
