"Wait wait wait" Katie held her hands up to stem the flow of words
Lanna seemed to spout endlessly "Your talking like Phoebe right now.
your 12 years old in the 10th grade"

"Something like that" Lana hunched her shoulders over.

"You don't look twelve" Katie cocked her hip against Lanna's locker.

"Would you still have kissed me if you knew I was twelve?" Lanna
whispered into the empty hallway.

"Probably" Katie took her hands gripping them lightly "Calm down
Lanna it's just school"

"I'm the only Klingon here" Lanna said to her shoes.

"And I'm a friend you have here" Katie countered "So it doesn't
matter. Whatever the problem you always have a friend"

"Thanks" Lanna said to her shoes again.

"No problem now look and me and give me your schedule I'll get you to
class" Kathryn accepted to offered PADD Advanced Astrophysics,
Advanced Engineering, Sub-Linear Temporal Factions, my god girl your
probably smarter than me"

Lanna blushed.

Kathryn followed the blush to the neck of Lanna's shirt. She wondered
how far down in went "My god Torres"

"What" Lanna was afraid she'd made Kathryn mad.

"Nothing. We have these two classes together. Sub-Linear Temp you
have on your own. Come on class is this way" Kathryn Janeway dragged
the girl down the hall behind her, trying her hardest not to give
into the urge to drag her into one of the bathrooms and make-out til
lunch.

Phoebe bounced into her classroom as she did everyday, she spotted
her best friend and rushed to her side.

"Annika where have you been" Phoebe embraced the smaller girl happily.

"My Mom took me to be tested at the Art Institute in Colorado" Annika
said returning the hug with more grace.

"Wow, how did it go?" Phoebe asked afraid to tell her friend that she
herself had gotten in for the next semester.

"I got in!" Annika squealed.

Phoebe's mood lightened exponentially "Yeah now we can go together"
she pumped the air excitedly and danced a little jig.

"Class come to order. Annika, Phoebe sit down" their holoteacher
droned.

The girls sat down wiggling in their seats with glee.

"Looks like she's got a turtle on her head" the boy taunted Lanna
nearly in her face. It was the end of the one class she didn't have
with Kathryn and she sorely missed the girl at that moment.

"Shut up. Just because humans have weak foreheads doesn't mean you
have the right to make fun of mine" Lanna said civilly. One more jest
and that boy was gonna swallow his own teeth.

"Turtle head, wanna eat some worms" he taunted again. The bell rang
and students began filing out of the class room. The boy made a rude
gesture at her and Lanna went off.

She growled and leapt onto his back bring him down on the floor of
the hallway. He turned and tried to flip her off his torso but she
maintained her position, her denser Klingon bones giving her the
advantage.

"Call me turtle head" Lanna growled punching him in his face breaking
his nose.

Kathryn pushed through the crowd that had gathered around the fight.
She reached the center and found Lanna beating the crap out of Thomas
Eugene Paris.

She grabbed Lanna's arms and tried to pull her off. Lanna went to
lash out at her then realized who it was. A moment too late. Her fist
connected with Kathryn's side causing her to double over in pain.
Lanna froze dropping her fists to her side.

"My god Katie I'm sorry" She began to back away the crowd parting for
her "I-I-I'm sorry" she stuttered as she fled the scene.

Kathryn held her side until she could catch her breath.

"Need some help" Tal Celes asked taking her other arm on the
uninjured side "I'll get you to the sick room"

Kathryn nodded and waited until someone helped Tom off his bruised
ass and led them off.

Lanna ran and ran. She never wanted to stop. She'd just hit the only
friend she had in the world. her temper had probably cost her the one
good thing about her life since her mother left. All because of her
damned Klingon temper /And that stuck up little fish Tom Paris/
Kathryn probably hated her now. She stopped to check her
surroundings. She was at the pond behind Kathryn's house where they'd
kissed 2 days ago. She fell to the ground and let the tears fall. She
didn't hear Gretchen Janeway's footsteps until the woman was right
beside her.

"Oh Lanna honey that 'is' you" Gretchen knelt next to the girl
rubbing her back gently "come inside dear your sng lng like a leaf"

Lanna let herself be led inside hoping the woman didn't throw her out
once she'd heard what she'd done.

Gretchen made her milk and cookies and got her talking about the day.
She told her about the classes, how much she liked them, all the way
up to her fight with Tom Paris. She left out the part where she'd
struck Kathryn.

The door slammed shut as Kathryn walked in the house nursing her left
side. A pretty Bajoran following behind her carrying her PADDs. Lanna
went to stand up. "Sit" both Gretchen and Kathryn demanded. She sat
wide eyed and worried.

"She isn't mad at you Lanna" Gretchen assured her "It was an accident
that you hit her"

Lanna froze "You let me in your house after I hit your daughter. You
knew I hit her and you still let me in?" Lanna's eyes were wide as
saucers.

"You accidently struck my daughter, and you apologized before you ran
off" Gretchen corrected.

"But"

"But nothing Lanna. I know you'd never hurt Kathryn" Gretchen rested
a motherly hand on Lanna's shoulder.

"But I'm Klingon" Lanna screwed up her courage "maybe I shouldn't be
around her if I can't control my Klingon side"

"No!" Kathryn started foward losing her balance. Lanna caught her
before she could fall. Luckily there was little difference in size
between them. She helped Kathryn to the chair she'd just vacated.

"It's okay Lanna really. I surprised you. I should've known not to,
the way you were wailing on him" Kathryn smiled "It's about time
someone took that little prick off his high horse"

"Kathryn" Gretchen warned.

"Well he is a prick Mother" Kathryn nodded towards Lanna "Ask her.
Even Celes said he kept calling her turtle head even after she was
civil to him"

"He did Mrs. Janeway, she was really polite about it" Tal Celes
offered setting down Kathryn's PADDs "It's about time someone put him
in his place. She knocked him silly" Celes giggled causing everyone

Kathryn sucked in a breath when she laughed to hard "Ouch"

Lanna helped her sit up straight again "Maybe you should lie down or
something. I'm told I hit very hard"

"You do" Kathryn agreed "Remind me never to fight you" she tried to
make light of it.

"I'd never fight you Katie. I'd just stand there and let you beat me"
Lanna hung her head.

"I'd better go" Celes said "Feel better Katie, bye Mrs. Janeway, bye
Lanna" she backed out the front screen door and bounded down the porch
and hopped into the hovercraft that Lanna hadn't heard pull up.

"You were ear deep in your misery dear" Gretchen said sensing her
consternation.

"Oh"

"Maybe I will lay down for a minute " Kathryn sucked in her breath
again as shde ade a movement to quickly.

Lanna without a thought scooped the girl up out of her chair and
carried her up the stairs into her bedroom.

"What are we getting married now" Kathryn aske amazed by the girls
brute strength.

Lanna blushed again.

Kathryn saw that it went down far. Lanna's shirt had ripped in her
dash from the school to Kathryn's back yard. As it was Katie could
see the cleavage of Lanna's budding breasts.

"You might want to close your shirt dear" Gretchen called from the
doorway.

Both girls groaned. Kathryn because she was caught looking, and Lanna
because she was caught letting her.
