The Eyes Have It

Will felt his heart stop momentarily.

     "Julie.....where are you.....what's wrong?"

Will tried to remain calm. He could hear her labored breathing on the other end.

     "Will....please...."

Will ran to his room throwing on the first clothes he saw.

     "Julie, I can't help you unless you tell me what's wrong. Where are you?"

Will stopped moving when a voice came on the other end of the line. His blood ran cold.

     "Thank you for answering your phone so quickly Mr. Graham. Unfortunately the lovely Dr. Ash is unavailable to speak at the moment, I just wanted to make sure you heard her voice so you know she is alive....for now."

The voice of Mason Verger was enough to make Will shake. He gripped his phone tightly, not sure what to do next.

     "What do you want Mason?"

     "The question is not what I want, Mr. Graham, it's what do you want? You have impecable taste in women. First my sister and now Dr. Ash...she is quite stunning. Unfortunately thanks to you and Dr. Lecter I can no longer experience the pleasure she would surely provide. I am assuming that you would like to see her alive...and in one piece so you are going to do one thing for me, you are going to bring Hannibal Lecter to me, alive. Until then, Julie stays with me to play."

Will cringed at the unmistakeable slap of a whip coming down on skin and the scream that followed. A rage was building inside of him. Like someone had struck a match and ignited a fuse, it burned slow and hot.

     "Where and when?" Will said through gritted teeth.

     "Tomorrow night, the slaughter house. You remember don't you? Where you and Hannibal pulled one over on me once already. Do it again....and I will kill her, right in front of you. You will be forced to watch the life drain from her beautiful blue eyes and feel her blood slipping through your fingers."

Will felt his blood pulsing though his veins. The rage washed over him and he felt his skin prickling with sweat.

     "You have your instructions Mr. Graham. I expect to see you soon. Say bye bye to Will Julie."

     "Julie.....?"

Julie's breathing was in the phone now, small sobs making Will's heart ache.

     "Yeah Will?"

     "I'm coming for you."
