AN2: So sorry for the delay... but the bunnies decided to run away...
Summary: The Circus is coming to town and Nick wants to thank his lover by taking him to see the sights.
Circus
Nick was nervous. It had taken him forever to get Detective Mac Taylor to allow Danny the time off from New York, but he managed it in time for the Circus that was coming to town.
Danny had told him that he had seen a circus once, but wasn’t allowed to go because his Father hadn’t approved. So when Nick found out from Greg that the “Circe du Soleil” was coming to town, Nick bought tickets to see the show and get Danny to join in.
Danny kept looking at Nick with unrestrained curiosity about why he had been flown down and dragged out the night after he had arrived. When Mac had told him that he was on leave for five days and was to head down to Las Vegas, he thought of the worst. That was until Mac had told him that Nick had made a promise for him and Danny was to enjoy his impromptu time off.
As the lights from the strip came into view, Danny became much more suspicious and was about to ask Nick when he saw that they were pulling into a parking lot, and the Texan was giddy. Nick was never giddy, and Danny smiled at the sight of his lover being so free with him.
Giving Danny a quick kiss he led the pair of them to the ticket counter and entered the building. Seeing the arena set up for a show, Danny followed bemusedly as Nick took them to their seats and waited for the show to begin.
When the show began, Danny was in awe and humbled by his boyfriend’s thoughtfulness. He knew that Danny had always wanted to see the Circus and now he could enjoy the time together with someone who loved him so much.
Grasping Nick’s hand, Danny smiled and watched the aerobatics with a childish glee. The happiness that radiated off Danny made Nick pat himself on the back, and he snapped a few pictures of Danny’s happiness on camera to send to Mac, as promised.
When the show was done, and after meeting the performers, Nick and Danny headed for home as the joy of the night settled down, leaving both happy and tired from the emotional performance and experience.
Upon entering the house, Danny gave Nick a soft kiss thanking him, without words, for how much this had meant to him. Kissing back, Nick smiled at his lover and both retired to the beroom to get reacquainted after a long time apart.
