Eveything Changes but Some Things Don't

Chapter 16

When Chloe awoke next the first thing she saw was a red backpack on a desk full of journals and a black rock. As she got up on her feet she asked to all those in the room who happened to be Green Arrow, Black Canary, Impulse and the girl from the hotel who were standing around the prone body of Davis, “What’s going on?”

Bart aka Impulse turned to face her and replied, “Start with the trank Beautiful. It kinda snuck up on ya’ super fast.”

She rubbed her head and pushed the hair out of her face as she looked around her and asked, “Where’s Clark?”

Then she saw something in Oliver’s eyes and looked down at Davis who still lay on the ground and got a serious look in her eyes as she walked closer to the group saying, “You find a way to kill him, didn’t you, and Clark wouldn’t go along with it?”

“No, he wanted to play Devil’s Advocate with the actual devil. Split the Kryptonian from the human,” Dinah answered her stepping in front of her to block her way.

“Black Kryptonite,” Chloe said looking over at the backpack where in plain view lay the fore mentioned kryptonite.

“Only one glitch in his plan. The whole Beast part,” Oliver said facing her directly.

“Last time we checked he couldn’t control his stonier alter ego,” Bart cut in.

“No but I can,” Chloe said pointing to herself and stepping walking forward as she continued on saying, “As long as I stay with him he doesn’t change. Please don’t do this to him.”

Suddenly Davis’ gravelly voice replied, “They have to…” and Chloe tried to walk to his side as he slowly rose up to a sitting position and shook his head saying, “Chloe it’s not working anymore…”

Bart and Dinah stepped out of her way but after Oliver told her to wait and she just looked him right in the eye Oliver let her closer to Davis. She silently wondered why the girl from the hotel wasn’t saying or doing anything but left it at that and knelt in front of Davis as he continued, “Chloe you’re not working.”

“Davis just focus on me, okay. We’ll get through this together just like we always have,” she said calmly trying to get him to focus on her and only her. She really didn’t want the Beast coming out to attack Oliver, Bart, Dinah, the new girl or anyone for that matter.

Davis knelt facing away from her to the wall saying, “I’m sorry. It’s too late,” as he began to struggle with the Beast inside him and looked at Oliver.

“We have to go now!” Oliver stated as he grabbed Chloe and pulled her away from Davis as Dinah and Bart tried to hold him back but were throwing off him by a simple shrug and thrown into the nearby desk and wall. The girl stepped away from the wall she had been leaning on almost calmly as if what was happening didn’t affect her and walked closer to Davis as he faced Oliver who was getting ready to fire an arrow right as Chloe stepped in his path and shoved the black kryptonite into Davis’ chest just as Oliver yelled, “Chloe, NO!”

With a flash of blue light and a bit of aftershock Chloe was made to step back from Davis as his two sides separated. Davis fell to his knees in front of the girl’s feet and looked back to find Doomsday, his Kryptonian side growling back at him.

“Well, this isn’t good,” the girl said in a smooth voice as she watched Doomsday calculatingly.

Back where Chloe and Davis had been found (about 30 minutes before…)

Jimmy had just arrived at the spot Tess’ computer said Chloe and Davis were and all he could see was a destroyed car. When he called Chloe’s name all he got was a loud groan coming from the other side of the car so he went to that side and found Clark lying face first on the ground hurt with a dart in his back.

“Clark?” he questioned as he rushed over to help his friend who it seemed had gotten knocked down and now had a dart in his back and a cut on his face.

“Jimmy, the dart…” Clark struggled to say through his panted breathing.

Jimmy was confused but slowly reached for the dart and pulled it out of Clark’s back.

The dart wasn’t like any he’d seen before it was glowing green from some kind of liquid in it.

“Whoa, check this out,” he said as he tried to show the dart to Clark but when Clark winced away from it he held it away from Clark as far as he could. Then just as quickly the cut on Clark’s face sparked gold and was gone as if it never existed.

Clark looked up at Jimmy’s surprised face with an unsure one of his own and as he stood Jimmy stood away from him a few feet, his back to Clark. When Clark was standing completely Jimmy faced him again with an awed expression saying, “The cut…its gone.”

To which Clark touched the side of his face as if to wipe something off and then looked at Jimmy.

“Jimmy…”

“No. No, I’m not buying it. That whole you’re here one second and then you’re not. You took a bullet and the next day you were fine. It’s like your some kind of…super…guy…” he said confused, surprised, awed and so much more all in one.

“Jimmy…” Clark said to get his attention agree and then in a calmer tone he went on, “I am the Red Blue Blur. You were right. About me and about Davis. You were the only person who put it all together. I’m sorry that I lied to you.”

Jimmy was so shocked he forgot to breath for a moment but when he did all he could say was, “I knew it. I was so right,” he finished with a self-satisfied and awed tone to his voice accompanying his big goofy grin.

“Jimmy I need your help…Do you still have that wedding gift? The one for Chloe you said you never gave to her?”

Jimmy suddenly got ruffled and began shuffling his feet a bit saying, “Yeah, I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it.”

“Alright, well I need you to give it to her now and whatever happens to me you need to make sure Chloe and Davis are safe,” Clark said as he walked passed Jimmy in the direction the geothermal plant was.

“Davis?” Jimmy asked sounding a little mad now.

Clark turned back to him asking, “Jimmy, do you trust me?”

“Always CK,” he answered and then was carried a few tripping behind Clark’s gust of wind as he super sped away. When the wind died away and Jimmy’s momentum stopped he said to no one really, “So…cool.”

About a minute later found Clark whooshing into the geothermal plant to find everyone knocked out but safe in a gold force field bubble with no Doomsday in sight.

“Ariel? Where’s Doomsday?”

“I don’t know. I had my hands full just protecting these guys. This is my fight. Doomsday’s yours,” she said as she lowered the force field and Oliver started to stur, but Clark wasn’t focused on him he was focused solely on Chloe.

“Chloe? Hey you okay?” Clark asked as Oliver got to his feet and he helped Chloe sit up.

“I think so?”

“What happened here?”

“Exactly what you wanted Clark. I split him. I split him from the Beast.”

Clark looked over to Davis knocked out body a few feet away and then looked at Oliver, “Where did he go?”

When he didn’t get an answer he stood and focused his super hearing in on Doomsday and found him causing havoc in Metropolis.

Once that was done he focused back on the now standing but beat up League members and god would he ever get over this thought, his daughter.

“I’ll get him back here but I still need you to detonate the explosives,” he said looking right at Dinah.

“Clark, you get him down that tunnel we’ll take care of the rest,” Oliver stated for all of them.

“Can I trust you?” he asked Oliver.

“Yes.”

And with that he super sped off to catch Doomsday or at least try.

“Well as fun as this all is, I must be going back to my time. Have fun?” The girl stated standing up straight and looking at all of them.

“Wait, aren’t you going to help us?” Chloe asked.

“Nope, not my place too. I came and did what I was sent to. Now I’m going back. Be safe Chloe Sullivan, you don’t know how important you are to history.”

And with that said and another flash of purplish light the girl was gone.

AN: I know right now its just looking like a redo of the finale with an added character surprise but I promise the surprises will keep coming and after the next few chapters the story will start looking more and more interesting just keep reading ok
