Summary: Tim, Horatio and Ryan spend a day skating while Tim remembers the trails that lead to this moment.
Roller Skating
Horatio smiled as Tim got Ryan to relax as they roller skated around the arena. Their younger lover had told them about the one time he had went years ago with his Uncle, but refused to go once his OCD started getting out of control.
Seeing Tim leading Ryan around with his hand on his shoulders and the occasional hand on his lower back, Horatio smiled and slid onto the rink with the intention of “helping” Tim teach Ryan.
Seeing Horatio making his way towards them, Tim smiled and spun Ryan in a quick circle, making the younger man squeak in surprise and fear. Clutching Horatio as he grabbed the shaken young man, Horatio shared a conspiratorial smirk with Tim as he let Ryan calm down.
“You’re too tense love. The more your body is rigid while you skate, the harder it is.” Horatio’s voice was low and calm in Ryan’s ear, making the younger man gasp.
Trusting eyes looked up at the red head and Horatio showed Ryan how to manoeuvre so that he could keep his balance and still turn at the right times. Stopping was still an issue, but Ryan was finally enjoying the day with his two lovers. As he skated around the rink, Ryan gave a shy wave to Tim and smiled at wave in return. Seeing Ryan so happy made Tim smile at the change in the younger man.
When Ryan had first joined there was hostility from the CSI’s but mainly from Eric who was against anyone taking Tim’s place. While Tim was on sick leave, Eric had gone to reminding Ryan that he would be gone when Tim returned and that he should be grateful that Horatio let him on the team. The Verbal abuse got so bad, that Ryan had introverted on himself.
When Time did come to the lab, the first thing he had noticed was how quiet the new guy was, and Horatio had asked him to train the younger man. This led to another set of verbal attacks from Eric, and when Tim heard one of the strains, he reacted.
FLASHBACK
Tim was walking into the locker room when he heard it.
“You know, you’re pathetic Wolfe. All you do is follow people around like a lost puppy. You aren’t wanted here man, don’t you get that. Horatio is humouring you and once he sees what a horrible CSI you are, you’re gone.” A cruel chuckle makes Tim’s blood boil and he storms into the locker room.
“So Eric, do you have any evidence to back up your claims, because I like working with Ryan. Actually I prefer working with Ryan than you. You see Delko,” The word was spat out making Eric loose his grin, “Horatio wanted me to find out why Ryan went from happy and bright eyed to sombre and frightened. Now that I know, you better pray to God that you can keep your job.”
With that, Tim bundled up Ryan and brought the younger man to Horatio’s office to file a harassment complaint against the Cuban.
END FLASHBACK
Tim remembered the shock on Horatio’s face hearing that Eric had been the reason for the change in Ryan and it had taken weeks before Ryan would start asking questions again; and over a month after that for him to make any suggestions.
Eric had been suspended and after he returned from his two week forced leave, he looked like a puppy that had been punished. Tim had called Eric’s mother, just to make sure she knew the whole story, and while it was cruel, Eric had deserved it.
When Eric had returned, Ryan stuck to Alexx and Tim while the Cuban worked, and after a few weeks of seeing that Eric was remorseful, Ryan began to spend some time alone, leading to Eric’s apologies.
The apology took several minutes and once the words were out, Ryan could finally heal. They had made plans to meet up, without knowing that Tim and Horatio would be there as well. A tentative friendship was reached and now Ryan and Eric were plotting ways to scare the new lab techs.
The apologies brought another curious reaction, and as he was dating Horatio at the time, Tim was confused as to why he wanted to hold and care for Ryan as well. Shockingly to him, Horatio felt the same way.
FLASHBACK
“H, you know I love you right?” Tim’s voice was hesitant and Horatio nodded at the words, waiting for his lover.
“I’m so confused. I know I love you, gods... it even took me forever to get you in my bed and life.” Horatio chuckled and Tim smiled even though he began to pace.
“This situation with Ryan is confusing me though. I just want to wrap him up in my arms and protect hi you know. Like I want to take away all of his hurts and problems.” He sighed and was shocked when Horatio pulled him onto his lap.
“I know how you feel, I have the same feelings for Ryan that you do, even though I love you more than life.” Both men sighed and Tim looked at Horatio with a wicked smirk.
“You know what this means?” Horatio shook his head in confusion and was a bit worried when the smirk turned into an outright leer.
“We get to instil him in our relationship, and make him ours.”

It had taken a lot of promises and patience, but within three months, Ryan was now a part of Tim and Horatio’s love life. HE had been terrified that it was a delayed joke at first, or that they would kick him out after finding out how bad his OCD really was, but they stuck to him.
Now after three years of being together, Ryan was truly happy with the turn of events, and began to open up in ways they could only hope.
Ryan surprised them with dinners, movies, flowers, chocolates, as well as individual gifts. Parts for Tim’s bike, gardening tools for Horatio, the latest book for Tim, the latest information on bombs for Horatio, and other little bits of things that showed he cared.
As Ryan did these things for his lovers, both took the cue to pamper and spoil him. At work, Ryan got flowers, chocolates, coffee, and other wonderful little gifts. At home Ryan was pampered with warm baths, and long walks on the beach. Horatio and Tim began to watch for signs and noticed when Ryan would need extra care and it would make the younger man melt from the love both men gave to him.
Looking back at the rink, Horatio and Ryan were making their way back to the bench. Smiling at the sight of Ryan flushed with pleasure made Tim smirk.
“You ready to head home?” The scruffy man smirked at Ryan’s low whimper and Horatio’s soft chuckle.
Getting an eager nod in return, Tim brought the rented skates back as Horatio bundled Ryan into the Hummer. Anxious to get home so that he could cuddle with his lovers, Ryan missed Tim entering the vehicle.
Upon arriving at home, Ryan and Tim bolted into the house, and Horatio laughed at the sight of Ryan and Tim rushing into the warmth and privacy of their beach house. Closing up the garage, Horatio made a mental note to find a more secluded location for their next home.
Entering the house, Horatio smiled at the sight of Ryan curled into Tim’s body on the sofa, and the smiling green eyes beckoned him to the sofa where he could rest with his lovers. Settling with his lovers the three men snuggled into each other’s bodies and reminded that even with the day of roller skating, being at home was much more pleasing.
