Chapter 16
A/N: Ok Please understand that Christy isn't being down right spiteful in this story. Paulie made his decissions on who he wanted to be with. He snuck behind everyone's back and even though Whitney had tried to kill Christy he still choose to be with her. I hope that everyone will understand that what happens in the next chapter will try to get him to see the error of his ways. Still don't own em but if you haven't figured that out by now oh well.
Chapter 16
Lucy was standing in the room at the back of the church. She was looking in the mirror and was thinking about how she never thought this day would come. Paul had surprised her before Christy had came into their lives but they had decided they wanted to wait till the baby (babies she corrected herself) was born. All of a sudden she was drawn out of her musings by a soft knock on the door. Christy stuck her head in and smiled.
"Hey there."
"Hey. Is everyone here?"
Christy frowned and then smiled again quickly. "Every last one of them."
"Are you sure you are ok with this. I mean me and Paul would understand."
Christy cut her off. "Yes Lucy. I am fine with this. Besides we didn't go searching for Mary and Paul's outfits for nothing. Their father made his decission and in the three months they have been born has not even called or tried to see them. It is like they don't exhist which is fine by me."
Lucy smiled and hugged her. "Well let's get this show on the road."
Paulie was sitting in the front row in between Mikey and Vinnie. He looked back and saw Candace sitting a few rows back from them and he smiled softly to her. Soon his dad walked out and Mikey poked him in the ribs.
The music started and Jamie walked down the isle smiling. Vinnie at that moment knew he loved her more than life. She was beautiful. Even more than she had been before. She looked at Paulie and remembered the promise she had made the bride and groom about keeping her temper in check. She took her place opposite of Paul and smiled, knowing this was the first time Paulie was going to see the twins.
Paul's granddaughter Rose walked down the isle dropping the rose petals slowly. Mikey looked on with pride as he watched his little girl do what she had been practicing. His wife Joan nodded to him and he nodded then to Vinnie. Everyone knew what was coming up and braced themselves quickly.
Christy looked over at Cody who was holding Paul and breathed deep. "Don't worry Christy. We are all here for you. Just ignore him."
Christy nodded and then Cody walked out with Paul.
Vinnie turned in his seat to watch the youngest OCC guy walking down the isle with his godson. Which it would have made a comical picture seeing Code in a tux, while carefully cradleing the baby boy on a pillow. Paulie looked up and with tears in his eyes knew immedately that was his son. Mikey cleared his throat and looked down the isleway to where Christy was walking in with Mary. Paulie then let the tears fall harder whenever he saw the twins. Christy kept her head held high and didn't even look towards him. She took her place beside Cody and then turned looking towards the door. The Wedding March then started and everyone raised to their feet as Lucy walked down the isle to become the next Mrs. Teutul.
About an hour later Christy, Jamie, Cody and Vinnie were sitting at a table with the twins watching the bride and groom dance. Jamie knew this was killing her sister but Christy was hiding it well. She took her eyes off her sister and glanced around the room to see Paulie sitting across from them. She figured he would be watching his dad and stepmom but his eyes were centered on the babies. Paul started fussing and Christy excused herself with Cody following close behind. They went into a room and shut the door. Shortly after Vinnie watched Paulie get up and say something to his date and walk out the door. He started to stand up and Jamie stopped him. "Don't Vinnie. Just leave it be."
Cody was sitting in the room cuddling Mary as her brother fed from their mother's breast. He looked up and met Christy's eyes and she smiled. She looked down noticing that Paul was finished and burped him. She switched babies with Cody as someone knocked on the door. Cody opened it and Paulie looked inside. "Can I please talk to Christy?"
Cody stood to the side and swaddled Paul back up in his blanket. He placed him on his shoulder and looked Paulie in the eye. Christy closed her eyes and prayed for strength. "Cody. Could you please leave me and Paulie alone for a few minutes. What he needs to say I think needs to be spoken in private." Cody slowly nodded and then looked from Paul to Paulie. Christy nodded and Cody walked over.
"Hold out your arms Paulie."
Paulie did and Cody slowly laid his son in his arms. "I'll be back at the table. Call if you need me."
Christy nodded and Cody shut the door, leaving the parents and the kids in the same room alone.
"Christy. Please let me finish before you speak. Yes. I was going to visit Whitney but no it wasn't just to spite you. I thought that if I seen her enough she would break down and tell me why she did it. I never thought it was going to cause trouble between us and then the day you went into labor I finally got the truth out of her. Yes she paid him to do it but only because she thought if you were gone she would get me back. I didn't leave my stuff there intentally. I remembered it was your last doctor's appointment before the c-section and I left in a hurry hoping I could get back home to you. I wanted to tell you about me going there but I didn't want to upset you while you were pregnant. The day the twins were born Pop's told me to stay away from you and think long and hard about where I wanted to be. The girl out there Candace she is a friend and has been for a long time. She is a certified child care worker and she helped me see the error of not telling you. I have missed three months of their lives because of my stupidity, Please don't let me miss anymore."
Christy looked up and saw the tears pouring from his eyes and knew he was telling the truth. "Paulie. I just wished you would have been honest with me. I would have understood about it. I thought you were still with her because you still talked to her. By the way that is Paul you are holding and this is Mary. This is the last time I am letting you back in Paulie."
Paulie sat down beside her. "Christy. There has been no one since that first night between us. There never will be another. You are the mother of my children and I know this might seem mean but will you marry me? Let me prove I am serious, become my wife and allow me to father more children for you."
Christy looked up crying and stared him in the eyes. "Oh so what is this now Paulie. Your children are three months old and this is the first contact you have had with them. You expect me to just believe that you are sorry and take you back? You made the decission Paulie. Not me. So what do you expect me to do just welcome you back with open arms and say everything is going to be alright?" She paused to burp Mary. "What do you take me as some sort of fool? I am not stupid Paulie. You say she is certified. Certified in what? Pleasing you when you need it, lubricating your pole when needed? NO PAULIE! IT AIN"T GOING TO HAPPEN! YOU COME HERE TO YOUR FATHER'S WEDDING, THINKING THAT I WOULD NOT RAISE MY VOICE! WELL YOUR WRONG! YOU MADE YOUR BED NOW LAY IN IT JUNIOR!"
Cody jumped up as soon as he heard Christy's voice rising. He ran to the door and shoved it open. He took one look at Christy and then looked over at Paulie with venom in his eyes. He picked up the diaper bag and walked over to take Paul from him. Paulie went to turn and Christy screamed again. "CODY! TAKE MY SON AND WAIT FOR ME OUTSIDE!"
It was then that Paulie spun. "YOUR SON! I AM HIS FATHER!"
By now the entire wedding had stopped and Jamie and Vinnie stood ready to run in and help if needed. Christy spun towards him. "YOUR SON? NEWS FLASH PAULIE! YOU WERE ONLY THE SPERM DONOR! YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO EITHER ONE OF THESE CHILDREN! THE PAPER YOU SIGNED THAT DAY WITH WHITNEY THERE. THAT WAS THE PAPER THAT GAVE ME FULL CUSTODY OF THEM! YOU GAVE THEM UP! THE PAPER'S HAVE BEEN FILED AND I SAY WHEN AND IF YOU SEE THEM! NOW GIVE MY SON TO CODY! HE HAS BEEN MORE OF A FATHER TO THEM THEN YOU HAVE! YOU WAITED THREE DAMN MONTHS TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO SEE THEM AND IF IT WASN'T FOR YOUR FATHER GETTING MARRIED YOU PROBALLY WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN BEEN HERE TODAY! NOW GO GET YOUR SLUT AND GET OUT OF MY FACE! I KNOW SHE IS YOUR NEW GIRLFRIEND PAULIE! I SAW YOUR ASS AT THE SHOP!"
Cody decided then that enough was enough. He gently took the now crying boy into his arms and walked out the door with Christy following close behind him with Mary. Paulie sat down on the couch in the room and bowed his head. Christy and Cody walked up to Paul. He smiled. "Don't say a word honey. He had it coming. Why don't you and Cody go ahead and leave and I will call you later on tonight to check on you all. Cody, son. Take her home and calm the three of them down. I will take care of Paulie ok?"
Cody nodded and steered the now crying Christy out the door. Paul on the other hand went to his son to give him another talking to.
