Chapter 15

Aaron entered Duffy's about 10 minutes behind his team. He had been detained by a last minute phone call. He was nervous and had been all day. He hoped his secret was still relatively safe, but with his team, he was pretty sure it wasn't. He opened the door and smiled when he heard The Rainmakers playing Metallica's Enter Night.

Jazzy looked so sexy when she played that song, he was eager to see her in person again. He stepped into the bar and glanced around. She was standing close to the door way, her feet spread wide in her rocker's stance, her amazing fingers flying over the frets. He smiled, he'd never seen her in pants before. She was wearing tight black jeans and high top sneakers. Her standard white wife beater was covered by a black vest.

He caught movement above her head and saw Morgan waving him to their table. He would have to walk straight towards her to get to the table. He took a deep breath and smoothed his tie. Ducking his head he began to slowly approach Jazzy. When he got close enough to touch her, she swung the neck of her bass straight up, so it was parallel to her body, she winked quickly, turned in a spin and danced off to the right. Aaron smiled and continued to the table.

Rossi watched the brief exchange between Hotch and his lover. He smiled to himself. He leaned forward and whispered to the rest of the team. "Please try to act like you don't know anything. For Hotch's sake." They nodded and muttered in agreement.

"Hey Hotch," Morgan called as Aaron settled himself at the head of the table, his team smiled when he turned his chair to directly face the band. "Still Jack on the Rocks for you?"

"Make it a Jack and Coke." Aaron called back.

Rossi settled himself in the seat next to Aaron. "Nice place." he said.

Aaron nodded, his eyes never leaving Jazzy. He watched her as the song ended, she stood in front of the stage, her right arm raised in the air, she snapped her fingers twice. Aaron saw Tank look up, obviously meeting her eye. She held up her index finger, he nodded and glanced to Jake and Mike, they returned the nod. Aaron smiled as they kicked off "Secret Agent Man".

"Great place." Morgan yelled over the music as he handed out the drinks. He sat down across from Emily, they stared at each other and mouthed "Wow."

Morgan glanced at his other teammates, Garcia looked like she was going to start crying and Reid looked like he was going to faint. "Close your mouth, Kid." he whispered in Reid's ear.

Reid turned to him and stage whispered, "That's Hotch's girlfriend?"

"It would appear so." Morgan laughed.

Jazzy ended the song center stage and slowly removed her bass, setting it on it's stand. She bent over, placing her hands on her knees, clearly pausing to catch her breath. "How ya'll doing out there tonight?" She called into the microphone.

The crowd roared and applauded. JJ, Emily and Derek whooped and pounded their beer bottles on the table.

"Well that's good." Jazzy continued. "You know, I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all on behalf of myself and The Rainmakers." She started pacing back and forth across the stage. "I know a lot of you have been out to see us before and you give us your love and support on the website." More cheers, "I want you to know that makes our jobs up here so much better." She paused for a moment as the crowd continued to applaud.

"We actually really love it here in Virginia and particularly at Duffy's."

"We love you too Jazzy!" a women screamed from the audience.

Jazzy chuckled a little. "Another reason being here at Duffy's tonight is so great, for me personally," she said, placing a hand on her heart, "is there is someone very, very special to me in the audience tonight." she flushed a little as the audience cried "Awwwwww" and applauded. She held her hands up in a 'Stop, stop' gesture. "Well anyway. I have a special song that I want to sing for him, you can listen too," she said, glancing at the audience. "It was written by Carol King and was recorded by Aretha Franklin..."

Mike leaned into his microphone and said "And Kelly Clarkson,"

Jazzy looked at him, "Really? Kelly Clarkson recorded a version of this?"

Mike nodded.

"Cool. I feel so much younger and hipper now." Jazzy said smiling. "Anyway, this song is for someone that's very special to me."

She closed her eyes and begin to sing;

Looking out on the morning rain

I used to feel uninspired

And when I knew I had to face another day

Lord, it made me feel so tired

Before the day I met you, life was so unkind

But your love was the key to peace of mind

Garcia gasped a little and wiped a tear from her eye, Derek reached over and placed an arm around her shoulders.

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, You make me feel like a natural woman

Jazzy slowly made her way down the stairs to the dance floor. She walked slowly towards Hotch, pausing about 3 feet away from him. His face remained impassive.

When my soul was in the lost-and-found

You came along to claim it

I didn't know just what was wrong with me

Till your kiss helped me name it

She raised her hand and pointed to Aaron.

Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for

And if I make you happy I don't need to do more

She approached him and slowly settling herself on his lap, facing him. He wrapped his hands around her back and linked his fingers.

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, You make me feel like a natural woman

Leaning back slightly, Aaron supported her weight with his hands. She raised back up and stared directly in his eyes, singing only for him.

Oh, baby, what you've done to me

You make me feel so good inside

And I just want to be close to you

You make me feel so alive

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, You make me feel like a natural woman *

With the last note still vibrating on her lips, Aaron pulled her to him and kissed her passionately.

The crowd erupted with thunderous applause. There were screams, catcalls and wolf whistles. Aaron could hear Derek yelling "Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm talking about man." He could feel the table next to him shaking as his team whooped and pounded. Jazzy broke the kiss and buried her face in his neck. He could tell she was blushing. He barely heard her when she said, "I missed you G-man."
