chapter 15 The naming ceremony
"Vincent" whispered catherine
"What's wrong my love" asked vincent as he woke up to a beautiful sight. His wife was breastfeeding their child.
"Nothing, I managed to latch him on and I've taken to breastfeeding like a natural. It feels wonderful to see my child at my breast." she gushed with tears of Joy
"What time did he wake up my love?" asked vincent in concern for his exhausted wife
"It must have been about 5:30am, thank you vincent for this beautiful child, I do love you so much" she gazed into his cerulean blue eyes and they kissed gently
"my goodness, catherine, he is a little guzzler isn't he?" said vincent astonished
"My breasts are so sore, I think he's eaten enough now" she pulled the baby away gently and handed him to vincent while she put on a nightie and a dressing gown.
Vincent placed his son gently in the bassinet and wrapped his arms around catherine and kissed her neck as she sighed in contentment.
"Are you hungry my love?" asked vincent
"I am ravenous, I could eat a horse right now" vincent chuckled and kissed her lightly before going off to the kitchens to fetch a tray of breakfast.
he found a note and a breakfast tray ready. He read the note. "For the new parents to keep up their strength". Vincent laughed out loud when he read it and took the tray.
"Honey, You never will guess what I found already prepared." he said still chuckling
as he arrived at the hospital chamber. He found catherine sprawled out on the bed and she was snoring lightly. He shook his head and chuckled some more as he lay down next to her. He pulled up her head slightly and slipped his arm under her neck. she looked so tired but still beautiful in his eyes.
As he drifted off to sleep he felt catherines peace and contentment.
In the afternoon they woke up to fathers smiling face. mary was bottle feeding the baby in the chair opposite the bed.
"Hello, did you two sleep well. Your breakfast is cold so we had william prepare a lunch tray." vincent looked up at him and smiles
"Thank you father, the baby decided 5am was feeding time and catherine was exhausted."
"Theres no need to explain yourselves, I thought we could have the naming ceremony in the library this evening."
"Oh father, we havent decided on a name yet" said catherine.
"Well, I could change the time to 10pm, how does that sound?" said jacob
"Perfect" they both smiled at each other.
