Chapter 15

I am sorry it has taken me so long to update. I didn't know if anyone was reading this by me not getting reviews but real life kind of snuck up and nipped me on the ass. Then I had a major writing block and the muses for this story went on vacation. So I am gonna try again. And as you know from the other chapters of this story I do not own nothing but the plot and the characters you don't recognize.

Chapter 15

It had been three months since Whitney had been placed in prison. Christy was now in her last trimester and in all honesty ready for this active child to be born. Paulie had taken her to a few doctors appointments and attended lamaze classes with her but over the past three weeks he had become very distant. He was around sure but it seemed like that he was hiding something from her. She had a doctors appointment scheduled for later in the day and Lucy was coming to take her. She got the bag ready because it was less than a week till her scheduled cesarian. She went into the office room of her house and picked up a couple of file folders. She opened the top drawer and picked up the file in there that Paul had given to her. She tried to throw it out but couldn't bring herself to do it. Something made her hold onto that folder. The phone rang giving her a shock and she answered it.

"Hello."

" Yes. I am sorry to disturb you mam but I was wondering if Mr. Teutul had returned home yet."

Christy thought this was strange because Paulie, even though they had worked through their problems, didn't live with her. "No sir. Have you called the shop? That is usually where he is this time of day."

"Oh mam. I already called there. They said he was not there and gave me your number."

"I see. Is there any reason you need him."

"Oh mam. I am sorry. When he gets there please tell him that Mr. Collin's called and he left his agenda book here in my office."

" Your office?" Christy asked confused.

"Oh yes mam. My office here at New York Women's Facility. He has been coming here for the past two months to visit an inmate and he left it here today."

Christy's legs gave out and she sank to the ground. "Which inmate sir?"

"Oh his girlfriend. Whitney."

" I will tell him sir. Thank you for calling." With that she hung up the phone and felt her heart ripping in two. Paulie had been lying to everyone.

Lucy showed up at the given time to pick Christy up and knew immediately something was wrong with her. "Christy?" she asked concerned and the girl looked up.

"He lied to us Lucy. The past two months he hasn't been going to appointments for the shop nor for us as a family. He has been going to N.Y. W. F. to see Whitney. One of the office personal called today. Her case worker and told me as much."

Lucy saw red. "Then I am guessing it is a good thing you kept the papers huh?"

Christy nodded. "Never again will he hurt me."

Lucy put the truck up in drive and they pulled out.

A few hours later Paul put down the sander to answer the phone. "Hello."

"Honey. It is me. We are at the hospital. Christy has gone into labor and they are getting ready to admit her into a room. Seems like the baby wants to come now. The doctor says she has at least six hours before she can even start pushing so they are going to let her have it natural. Is Paulie in the shop?"

"Yeah why?"

"I have a message for him. Tell him that Mr. Collin's called from NYWF and he left his agenda book there today while visiting his girlfriend. I have to go. They are placing her in a room."

Paul stood there staring at the phone and then turned to the shop. "WHERE THE HELL IS NUM NUTS?"

Paulie came walking in through the office door and taking one look at his father's face, He knew he had been caught.

Two hours of yelling and a truck drive later found Vinnie, Jamie, and a very upset Paul at the hospital. They walked up to the nurses desk as to ask what room she was in and they were told the room number. They walked down the hall and took the elevator to the fifth floor. Once they exited they went to the room and knocked. Once the door opened they walked inside.

Christy was laying on the bed resting. Jamie kissed her forehead and she opened her eyes. "Oh sis. You gotta love pain meds. Woo hoo. They rule."

Everyone in the room laughed at her. "Well hon. I take it by the morning we will have a new chopper baby huh?"

Christy nodded tiredly. "For sure. Oh I have a message."

Paul kissed her cheek. "From Mr. Collin's? Don't worry, It has been delivered hon. Now get your rest and we will be right in the waiting room, waiting for the news. Take care honey."

Christy nodded and kissed each of them in turn and then closed her eyes.

Five hours later an ashen faced Lucy came out of the room and sat down. "She is fine. Still drowsy from all the meds but the doctor says we can see her in an hour or so. She is cleaning her up now."

Jamie looked up. "What about the baby?"

Lucy slowly turned to her. "That I was asked not to say. She wanted to tell you herself."

The other three sat back defeated as they awaited the hour to pass.

The nurse came up. "Are you all here with Christy?"

They nodded eagerly. "Well she is asking for you all to come with her to the nursery."

They got up and walked back to the room to find Christy sitting up in a wheelchair. She smiled at the three of them. "Let's go see the newest edition shall we?"

They followed the nurse down the hallway and stopped in front of a window. The nurse nodded and went into the room and said something to the lady inside. She nodded and picked up a small bundle and held it up to the window. Paul looked over at Lucy with tears in his eyes. Christy nodded again and Jamie watched as another nurse came walking up holding another bundle. Paul looked around and then looked down at Christy.

"Twins. That's why I was so tired all the time. A little boy and a little girl. Now I have both."

Paul leaned up against the window for support. "I can't believe it." He looked down and noticed that Christy was nodding off in her chair. She raised her head.

"I am tired and I want to rest. I see their father isn't here."

Vinnie smiled. "It ain't like he had a choice. I mean he does but let's just say he ain't too happy right now."

They turned and took her slowly back to her room to rest.
