Finn's Doctor's Appointment
Okay so, I owe explanations. Sorry I haven’t updated in like two months :[ I’ve been busy and then I had this dream and it gave me an idea for a Harry Potter story and I started writing that on top of Because I Loved You. Good news, here’s three new chapters for your enjoyment [hopefully] and look out for my Harry Potter story that should be uploaded right after Because I Loved You is finished. Bad news, Because I Loved You is almost finished! I’m kind of sad but excited, and also angry with myself. As I was recently writing, I had such a good idea for the story that would have added more layers to it and made it even more interesting. Ahh, well maybe one day I’ll rewrite it, who knows? First things first though, finishing Because I Loved You as it is. Please rate and review as always, I love feedback, and thanks for holding on in there with me! :] ~Andre

“Everything I do makes him mad,” I sighed.
“I thought he was talking to you again, Puck,” she said.
I was talking to Quinn. I knew it was strange, I understood it was even hypocritical, but she really seemed to know what she was talking about when it came to Finn, and I sure as hell didn’t.
“He is!” I said. “But we had a fight last night and we decided we… wouldn’t be together… at all…”
Quinn stopped in her tracks and looked over at me with an amazed look on her face.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked.
She smiled. “Noah Puckerman is gay,” she said in awe.
“No, he is not,” I corrected.
“You’ve made love to a guy, you’re having a baby with a guy, you’re in love with a guy,” she rattled off.
“Hey, I am not gay,” I said. “And I am not in love with Finn.”
“Who are you trying to convince?” Quinn asked, raising one blonde eyebrow up at me.
I sneered. “Shut up Quinn.”
“That’s the cry of a boy who doesn’t know what to say,” she said laughing a little.
I sighed. “I don’t care about that right now Quinn. Honestly the only thing I want is for him to stop getting angry at me so we can work together for the baby…”
“That’s very mature of you,” Quinn said.
“I still don’t know what to do though,” I said. “I mean if I can’t get through to him then how are we going to… crap!”
“What?” Quinn asked, her eyebrows turning down in one quick motion.
“It’s Finn’s doctor’s appointment today!” I groaned. “It’s at three!”
“Oh my God!” Quinn shouted. “Go! Go! It’s like five to!”
I ran… and I was late…

I darted up to the receptionist’s desk at Finn’s doctor’s office and repeatedly banged on the little silver bell perched on top of the desk.
“Can I help you?” an irritated looking black woman asked snatching her shiny bell away from my impatient hand.
“I need Finn Hudson!” I shouted.
Her face lit up. “You know Finny Hudson?”
“Y- Yeah,” I said. “I need to see him right now!”
She stood up and walked around her desk and gestured me over. “Come on, Finny’s just going into his ultrasound now!”
“So, you really like Finn around here huh?” I asked noticing several pictures of him stuck to a dry erase board behind her desk.
“Yes, we all do! He’s the first pregnant boy here, and while we all wish he were a lot older, he’s the sweetest thing and we’ve all become really attached to him and the baby,” she exalted leading me down a busy hallway. “We find out what sex it is today. We nurses think it’s going to be a girl but the technicians think it’s going to be a boy. We’ve got a little bet going.”
They’re putting bets on my baby?! I thought angrily. I felt my hands clench into fists.
“Can I see him now?” I asked through gritted teeth as we got to the front of a door I assumed Finn was behind.
“Oh no,” the nurse said. “You’ll have to wait here if you’re not family.”
I groaned. “I’m sorta family…”
“Is that Noah?” I heard Finn ask from behind the door.
I responded to his voice immediately and charged into the room without a thought.
“Hey!” the nurse cried. “You can’t go in there!”
“Finny?” I asked. “There you are.”
He was lying on his back on an examination table with his shirt off. There was a blonde woman fittering with some medical equipment in the corner and another black haired woman that wore glasses was staring at me with wide eyes.
“I didn’t think you were coming…” he muttered.
“I wouldn’t miss this.”
“You CAN’T be in here young man!”
“Finn, who is this?”
I tore my eyes away from Finn and directed them to the woman who spoke. The one with the glasses.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Who are you?!” the nurse asked.
“Rhonda, calm down,” the black haired woman said calmly. She turned to Finn. “Finn who is this, dear?”
“Because if you don’t know him, he’s gonna have to go!” Rhonda the nurse said looking me up and down suspiciously.
“No! No!” Finn cried. “I do know him ladies. He’s um… my baby’s father… Noah, remember…? I told you about him.”
Every woman in the room stared over at Finn for about three seconds before glaring over at me and in that moment I realized for the first time just how many women were in the little room; Finn and I were the only dudes. A few months ago this would have really made me much happier than I was now.
“Really?” Rhonda asked incredulously. “This guy?!”
"Oh... him..." the blonde said cringing a little bit.
Finn sighed, closed his eyes and put a hand on his forehead.
“Rhonda, Kim, are there any other patients that need to be signed in at the front desk?” the black haired woman asked politely.
“I guess,” Rhonda answered hotly. “But I don’t know about this guy…” she turned and left back down the hallway muttering to herself about me. “Mohawk wearing…”
"By, Finny," the blonde said, patting his head as she left. she gave me a dirty look as she exited, shutting the door behind her.
“You’re Noah,” the black haired woman said smiling.
“Yeah,” I said defensively. I knew logically that this woman was Finn’s doctor, but I still didn’t trust her. I eyed her angrily.
“Puck, stop looking at her like that,” Finn snapped from behind is entire arm now.
I stared down at him. “Like what?!”
“Like a jealous alpha- male,” the doctor laughed, rolling her eyes. “Noah, I’m Doctor Peterson.” She held out her hand.
“It’s Puck,” I said trying my best to tone down my anger. I reached out and shook her offered hand.
“Very nice to finally meet you,” she said and then took a bottle from a counter. “Are you ready to get started hon?” she asked Finn.
“Yeah,” he answered, still trying not to laugh at me. “Let’s get this over with; I’m still doing stuff in the baby’s room.”
“What stuff?” I asked interrupting whatever Doctor Peterson was going to say.
“Just stuff…” Finn muttered.
“Mr… Puck? Why don’t you have a seat in the chair next to Finn?” Doctor Peterson suggested, waving to the backless rolling chair near Finn’s table.
I frowned but sat down and wheeled closer to him anyway.
“Tell me later,” I muttered to him. He rolled his eyes.
We all quieted down and Dr. Peterson started squeezing the contents of the bottle she had collected out onto Finn’s exposed belly; it was a cold looking blue gel.
“The technician was going to do this but I really couldn’t wait to be informed,” she was saying as she pressed the transducer probe into the gel. She moved the probe around on Finn’s stomach and a grainy image began to appear. “Okay, so this should be the baby’s head . . .”
I looked over at Finn’s face and saw it light up excitedly when he looked over at the screen. I looked at the screen and was confused. The image was completely grayscale, there was some movement, and when the doctor moved the probe up a little a loud squeaking filled the room.
“And that would be baby’s heartbeat.” The doctor wrote some things down on her clipboard. “This is so remarkable.”
I looked down at Finn and saw that he was looking up at me. He smiled and took my hand from my side.
“That’s our baby Puck,” he said quietly.
Suddenly the doctor yelped. “Rhonda is going to be so mad! The nurses loose the bet! It’s a boy!”
Every instinct in my body told me to run and I had no good reason as to why I didn’t. I just stood there, holding Finn’s hand and looking at him like an idiot. What had I gotten myself into?
