Chapter 14 The baby is here
Several hours after catherine had gone into labour. Her waters had finally broken bringing more intense contractions.
"Oh God, this hurts" she gasped as she flopped back against vincents chest and gripped his knees.
"I know my love, but soon our child will be here and you are doing so well." said vincent as he wiped her forehead with the cloth.
"Oh God, catherine the head is crowning" said father
"Right, On the next contraction. I want you to push as hard as you can, ok" catherine looked up at father lovingly and nodded her head as vincent rubbed the small of her back
"I gotta push" she gasped as another contraction hit
She was helped by mary and vincent to sit up and bear down. Vincent sent a wave of strength to her over the bond and she pushed with all her might.
Suddenly she felt the baby leave her body and she flopped back against vincents chest in exhaustion. They both cried in relief when they heard a cry at the end of the bed
They watched as father and mary cleaned the baby and wrapped him in a blanket.
"Would you like to see your son?" jacob asked with damp eyes and a smile
"Yes" jacob placed the baby in catherines arms and they both cried tears of Joys as they cooed over their miracle child.
"Look what we did, oh my he has your eyes, vincent and my nose." she gushed still giggling through her tears.
"I am so so proud of you my love" said vincent as he kissed his wifes forehead
"Come on mary, lets give them some time with their son" jacob said quietly.
mary and jacob walked hand in hand out of the hospital chamber and vincent cradled his wife and new child in his arms hoping this was a dream he would never wake up from.
"Sleep my wife, recover and I'll be here when you wake up." whispered vincent
They both closed their eyes in exhaustion as the baby snuggled down in his mothers arms.
