Chapter 15
Author's Note: Small spoiler for Mr. Billy's Wild Ride (one of my personal favorite episodes)
=================================================
Seven golden, very beautiful, graceful looking spaceships that had long pointed tips in front, curved sharply upward, and finally dipped gracefully down, up, and out, into what looked like a double fin at the back, hovered far above the floor attached to various levels of scaffolding.
“Billy built Aquitian ships,” Rocky said, his voice hushed, and the others just stared around the room.
“Well, Billy, several robot drones, and Zordon and myself,” Alpha nodded.
“I can’t believe it,” Adam stared, his mouth agape. “I never thought to ask what happened to the ship he flew back here after his first trip to Aquitar.”
“I thought the ship was too damaged to ever fly again,” Tommy said. “Especially after being attacked by King Mondo on his way back from Aquitar.”
Alpha shook his head. “It was very badly damaged, but after he had me analyze the ship itself, we copied the skin design and the inner workings, input everything into the computer, and we created the other six versions, though he was never able to finish a couple of them. The original he kept for himself and repaired shortly before he got ill.”
“Alpha,” Aisha continued to look up at the impossibly high scaffolding and the ships. “Do you think we can we finish them so they’ll all fly?” Aisha questioned hesitantly.
“And adjust them so they’ll accept Aisha, Kimberly, Zack, and me?” Jason asked, and Alpha tilted his head in an approximation of the human version of thoughtfully, as he too ‘gazed’ up at the seven ships.
“It would mean accessing the original designs, which were fortunately input into my new memory, so I don’t see why not. All I’d have to do is access the individual onboard computer settings, take out Kat and Tanya’s Zeo readings, replace them with the Ninjetti settings, and key them to your biorhythms, and, of course, there is still some structural work that needs to be done on several of them.”
“Oh, that’s all, huh?” Kimberly asked amused, and the others smiled.
“Ay-yi-yi, Rangers,“ Alpha swung his arms. “It sounds like a lot, but the ships could be usable in two to three days . . . if we push ourselves.”
“Then we push ourselves,” Tommy declared, and they got to work.
