Birthday Adventure
“ Daddy get up”.
Clark looked at the alarm clock.
It was only six am .
“ Sweetheart its too early”.
She climbed up on the bed.
“ Its my birthday today”.
“ I know Vesta”
“ Just let me sleep for a couple of more hours.”
“ A couple of hours”?
“ Yes”.
“ Daddy your wasting daylight”.
“ Okay if you promise to let me get just one more hour of sleep I’ll get up”.
“ You promise”?
“ Lord child with you around we can fire the rooster”
She laughed , kissed him on the cheek.
“ Okay daddy I’ll leave you alone”.
He closed his eyes , and went back to sleep.
An hour later the buzzer on his alarm went off.
He got ready.
Vesta had fallen back to sleep on the couch.
“ Oh I see how she is” .
“ Clark what are you talking about”?
“ Mom , I’m beginning to think there horns holding up her halo”.
“ Clark now why would you say something like that”?
“ She woke me up this morning at six”.
Martha laughed.
“ Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood”.
“ Clark when you were little you used to sometime wake your father , and I up at the crack of dawn”.
He looked over at Vesta .
“ I can’ t complain something special came out of me being human”.
Martha smiled at him.
“ You see son the pros out weight the cons”.
He looked at her , and smiled.
The morning went by quickly ,and soon the party had begun .
Vesta got all kinds of presents.
Clark waited to until everyone had gone before giving Vesta his present to her .
She open the box, “ Daddy It not cold yet”.
“ Why do I need a coat”?
“ I’m going to take you somewhere , and you’ll need it”.
“ Daddy where are we going”?
“ It is a surprise”.
Martha looked at Clark , than at Vesta
“ Okay you two have fun”.
He lifted her into the truck.
The trip only took a few minutes .
“Daddy I’ve never seen these before”, she said looking around at the cave.
He bent down to help her with her coat .
“ Oh I know what my present is now”.
“ We’re going exploring” .
He lifted her up.
“ Yes we are”.
The cave was cold .
“ Okay when I tell you to close your eyes keep them close , until I tell you to open them”.
A moment later they were transferred into an icy world .
"Open your eyes".
Vesta look around in awe .
“ This is so pretty, but where are we?”
“ This is a remembrance of my Home planet Krypton”.
“ I think your old enough now to start learning more about it”.
“ The voice of my birth father Jor El can sometime be heard”.
“ His essence is what made me human, and save my life by giving me back my powers”.
“ That is when you , and mommy had sex , and made me”.
“ How do you know about sex”?
“ Daddy I’ve read about human reproduction”.
His body was radiating more heat then usual , but her little teeth still chattered.
“ Daddy Lionel told me that Jor El has communicated through him”.
“Yes”.
Clark looked around .
“ I’ve also seen a meet a replica of my real mother here”.
“ She was beautiful”.
“I’ve already told you that story”.
“ Daddy I’m getting colder”.
He shielded her from the frigid air.
He told her all he knew about krypton, and then they were back in the cave again.
Her cheeks were red , and her lips were blue .
He took off her gloves, and blew warm air onto her hands .
“ That is much better”.
He smiled at her, and lifted her back into the truck.
