The Starlight

Until the end of my life

The witch queen was stalking through the apple orchard with the wind whipping through her long red hair, making it burn like a roaring, curling flames. Her face was calm, but, her molten amber eyes were ablaze with lava hot fury. She was going to kill them all. Her breasts were sagging. Her fucking breasts were sagging! Oh, they had to die.
“Where are you?” She called out, waving her great knife around. “Come out, so I can slash you up real good!”
She looked around and thunder bellowed overhead, causing her to look up at it in annoyance. She told the sky to shut its face before she stabbed it, too. It promptly obeyed. The wind even hushed its voice as well.
“Now,” she said, heading back towards the big red barn. “Show me where that little twit hotfooted off to with my star.”
She reached inside her silk gown, pulling out a concealed pouch, opening it up by the golden clasp. She threw a pinch of dust up into the air and it glittered like diamonds in the sunlight. It spiraled around like ruby wisps of smoke, causing footprints to glow on the ground. They were leading away from the farm and out of her sight.
Now, she was really starting to get angry. It was no telling where that brat had run off to. He was fast. He could be miles away by now.
“Oh, no,” she hissed, racing in hisses of silk, following the glowing footprints to stop in the gravel drive. “What if they leave the meteor infected area?”
The thought simply horrified her. The star would crumble away into useless rock if the god were to do that. She would fail her mission, and suck at life, too. She and her sisters would have to wait for another star to fall. It was no telling how long they would be waiting for that to happen. Stars didn’t just fall because they wanted to. Plus, it was rare for a wishing star to ever fall. This could be her only chance to make her wish come true.
“Come back here with my star!” She cried, snapping her gloved fingers, causing a magnificent black unicorn to materialize before her in distorted lights.
The stunning creature reared up before her, showing off how magnificent it was, and lowered its golden horned head. She was instantly sitting like the queen she was in the golden saddle. She took the golden reins in her hands, commanding the pretty horsy to get a move on.
The unicorn was suddenly racing across the farmlands like the wind, following Clark’s glowing footprints. The witch queen threw her head back, cackling in wicked glee. She could taste that bitch’s heart on the tip of her tongue. Oh, she couldn’t wait to bite down, chew, and then swallow eternal beauty and power.
She started to sing a song from Wicked, Defying Gravity. Oh, her voice was sweeter than any faeries, and deadlier than any sirens.

Clark sat Kyle down on his bare feet and began to look him over, hoping that Lex was going to be all right. He had put him on a gurney at the hospital in front of the nurse’s station. He would more than likely wakeup dazed and confused. Or, at least, that’s what he hoped.
He kept trying to break the damn silver chain around Kyle’s ankle, but, the blasted thing kept linking back together no matter what he did. It was really starting to piss him off. Why wouldn’t the damn thing just stay severed? Oh, he was really beginning to hate magic.
“You saved me.” Kyle whispered, glowing with soft light.
“Of course I saved you,” Clark said, looking up at him. “Why did you go out into the orchard all by yourself? Why didn’t you answer me when I was calling for you?”
Kyle’s soft glow dimmed and he turned his pretty face away from the alien. He could see those petal soft lips on Lex’s. The image stabbed at his heart like that witch’s blade would have done had Clark not rescued him.
Clark stood up and put his hands on Kyle’s shoulders. “What’s wrong? Did that woman do something to you before I got there?”
“I saw you,” he said, looking up into his worried green eyes. “I saw you kissing him.”
Clark’s eyes widened.
“So, I ran away,” he said, looking completely human now. The glow was gone. “And she was there, waiting for me.”
Clark was pissed. That crazy ass bitch had done this. She had planned it all out. She put a spell on Lex, causing him to kiss him so that Kyle would witness it, causing him to run off to where she would be waiting like a spider in its deadly web.
“I didn’t kiss Lex, Kyle,” he said, gently squeezing his shoulders with his big hands. “That woman had him under some kind of spell, causing him to kiss me so that you would see it and run away.”
Kyle blinked his molten blue eyes and looked down at the silver chain around his ankle. He wanted to believe Clark, but, his heart was bleeding. That image would not leave his mind. It was painful. It hurt. It hurt a lot.
“Look at me,” Clark said, poking him in the head.
Kyle sighed, doing so.
“I see you,” Clark said.
Those three little words brought a soft glow to his white flesh. They were such tiny little words and yet they meant so much.
“I see you, Kyle.” Clark whispered, kissing him on top of his head, making him glow even more.
He believed him. That witch would do anything to get at him. They were in a lot of danger.
Kyle put his arms around him and smiled when Clark did the same. That was all he needed for now. Clark saw him. Nothing else mattered.
He pulled back, taking another look around. “Where are we, Clark?”
“Crater Lake,” he said, giving him a happy smile. “I want you to hide here while I go take care of that hag.”
“Oh, who might that be, little boy?” A deadly voice asked from behind, causing them both to look in surprise.
That black unicorn pawed at the ground with its right golden hoof, snorting fire as it did so. The witch queen was looming down at the two of them with glowing amber orbs from the saddle. Silk was billowing all around her.
Clark could not take his eyes off the pretty horses golden horn. Was this a real unicorn? Wow, it was so freaking pretty. It had beautiful amethyst eyes, a shiny coat that shown like a starless night, and its mane seemed to roll like thunder clouds.
“Give me back my star, boy,” the witch queen said, holding out a gloved hand for him to hand her the silver chain like a good slave. “And I won’t cut out your tongue, fry it up in butter, and put it between two pieces of toast for insulting me.”
Clark quickly stood in front of Kyle, looking at her with glowing red eyes. “I don’t think so, Saggy.”
Her delicate nostrils flared in outrage. Her boobies were sagging something terrible. Oh, she could just stab the muscular bitch and cry.
“Do you have any idea what horrors I can make you suffer?” She asked, glaring at him with even more hatred than ever.
“Just go away,” Kyle said, looking over Clark’s right shoulder. “And I won’t tell Mother Moon what you tried to do.”
“Oh, no!” The witch queen cried in mock horror, throwing her hands up in false terror. “Whatever shall I do?” She gave a snort, cocking a brow. “Does it look like I’m afraid of fat face in the sky?”
“You can’t have him,” Clark said, backing up with Kyle. “He’s mine.”
Kyle looked at him.
The witch queen cocked her head to the side, laughing. “Oh, I don’t think so, little boy.”
Clark quickly turned in the blink of an eye, punched his fists through a large boulder, told the horsy he was sorry, and hurled it at the woman on its back. The witch queen pointed with a gloved finger. Lightning shot from her fingertip, blasting the rock to pieces.
Clark pulled Kyle into his arms, shielding him from the debris.
The witch queen cackled. “So, you’re strong, too.”
He turned to see that the unicorn was gone and she was standing there, looking at him in amusement. She now had streaks of gray in her dimming red hair.
“Don’t play with me, little boy,” she said, stepping forward. “I lie, cheat, fight dirty, and always win.”
She suddenly spoke a word of power, sending Clark flying face first into the lake with a gigantic splash. She slapped her knee, threw her head back, and howled with laughter. Oh, the look on his silly face had been priceless. The look on her face would have been priceless to if she knew she now had laugh lines.
“Now,” she said, having the silver chain slither across the green grass like a serpent and up into her open palm, giving Kyle a good jerk as her hand closed around it. “Come here.”
He jerked back, causing her to stumble forward with a snarl.
“Clark!” He yelled, fighting to get loose. “Clark!”
“Shut up!” She snapped like a whip, slapping him across the face, rolling her eyes. “Can’t you see, he’s swimming with the fishes?”
“Actually,” Clark said, tapping her on the shoulder, taking the chain from her. “It’s sleeping with the fishes.”
Her eyes widened in shock when he picked her up like a dolly. She screamed as he threw her out into the water with a splash. She came up spitting, and screaming curses left and right.
“Oh, damn!” Clark hissed, stomping his heel. “Why isn’t she melting?”
She spun around in the water, sending waves in all directions. She pointed a quivering finger at him, sending a bolt of lightning right at him. It struck him in the chest, sending him flying feet over head backwards into a boulder with a crash.
Kyle yelled, ducking as debris flew over his head. “Clark!”
“How do you like them apples, bitch?” She asked, stepping up onto the surface of the turbulent waters, stalking across the turbulent waves towards the star who was trying to pull a stunned alien from the rock he was embedded in.
“Stay back!” Kyle yelled, turning on her with a feral look in his blue eyes. “Or…I’ll nova!”
“And kill your man?” She asked, pulling out a special pouch. “I don’t think you will, little wishing star.”
She reached down for the chain, but, Kyle jerked it away from her before she could take it. It caused her to hiss in frustration. He had better be worth the trouble he was causing her. Oh, what was she thinking? Of course he was worth the trouble. A wishing star was worth all kinds of trouble.
“Time to go,” she said, snapping her fingers in irritation.
To his horror, Kyle found himself wrapped from his shoulders to his ankles in the silver chain. He couldn’t move, but, he did fall over onto his side with a thud.
She pulled glittering amethyst dust from the pouch, sprinkling it in the air before her. A hole shimmered into existence before her, glowing with crystalline lights.
She snapped her fingers again, making Kyle float up into the air. She took a hold of the chain and began to lead him towards the hole like a balloon.
“NO!” Clark cried, breaking free from the rock just in time to jump her.
All three went down, crying out as they rolled through the shimmering hole. Their cries echoed as it vanished in a sparkling pop.
