chapter13 The shared pain
Vincent was down in the basement waiting for Joe to pass down the headboard for their new bed and suddenly he felt a shooting pain in his stomach and knelt down.
"Joe!"
"Vincent, what's wrong" shouted Joe
"Nooo....." "I think catherine has gone into labor"
"What! she's two weeks early vincent!" said Joe as he climbed down the ladder
"I told you about our bond" said vincent
"Right, ok, is there any way you can shut down the bond for now?"
Vincent tried joe's suggestion and shut down the empathic link he shared with catherine
"Come on let's leave the bed parts here and go see to your wife"
They ran to the bedchamber where catherine was and vincent quickly sat behind her so she could grip his knees through the contraction.
She leaned back against his chest with sweat pouring off of her.
"Vincent" she caressed his cheek "I'm not sure if I can do this"
"You can my love, you can" he smiled lovingly at his brave wife
