Making a Splash
Vesta stuck her foot into the water.
“ Vesta just jump in".
" I won't let you go under.
“ I’m scare”.
“ Vesta the water want hurt you”, plus you have your water wings on.”
Vesta hesitated for a moment contemplating if she was going to jump in.
“ Vesta if you don't jump in I can’t give you your first lesson”.
She put both hands on her hips .
“ First Lesson?”
“ How many lessons until I’m a good swimmer”?
“ Vesta I really don't know after all Atlantis was not built in a day”.
She gave him a perplexed look .
“ Atlantis?”
“ I will explain later just jump”.
“ Okay here I come”, she held her arms back bent her legs slightly, and jumped .
“ Now the first thing is learning how to hold your breath” .
“ Take a deep breath .and put your nose, and mouth into the water”.
“ That was good one minute”.
“ You have strong lungs.”
He held her in a floating position.
“ Vesta your going to have to take your water wings off in order to learn how to float”.
He lifted her out of the water.
“ Okay now when I move my arms just relax”.
“ You’ll sink a little, but you’ll float back up.
“ I knew it you’re a natural floater”.
“ I am?”
“ Yes you are”.
“ Some day I might be able to swim almost as good as daddy”?
He smiled at her.
“ Well almost as good, but you’ll really have to practice”.
“ I know, because daddy has super powers”.
“ If I super powers I beat up Ian Duncan”
“ Who is Ian Duncan ?”
“ He a little boy that always picks on me”.
“ Sweetheart you know little boys sometimes pick on little girls they like”.
She kept on floating .
“ They do?”
“Yes”.
“ Your daddy started liking your mommy when they were little?”
He flip her over.
“ Okay now I want you to kick your legs for me” ,and move your arms pushing back against the water”.
“ Like this?”
She splashed water in his face.
“ Vesta you definitely get your strong legs from your dad”
“ I have my mommy’s attitude”.
“Really”?
“ That is what daddy says.”
He laughed .
“ Yeah your daddy’s right”.
“ Your already talking about beating up little boys”.
“ If he likes me I want beat Ian up.”
“ Oh so you like him too”?
He took her over to the steps.
She stood there looking at him.
Her emerald eyes piercing through him”.
She put her hands on her hips, and heaved her chest out.
“ I did not say I like him”.
“ Okay I didn’t say you liked him”.
He looked at his watch .
“ Its twenty minutes to six”.
“ I better get you home.”
They drove up in the drive Clark ,and Chloe were sitting on the porch swing.
“ Daddy, Chloe I’m a natural swimmer.
She climbed up in Clarks lap.
“ I see you had fun today.”
“I had a lot of fun”.
“ Author said he will keep giving me lesson ,so I can swim like a fish”.
I’ll take her bag inside”, said Chloe.
“ Come on Vesta ,and you can tell me all about your lesson”.
“ Clark I have to be going now” .
“ Tell the little water nymph I will come get her next Saturday”
“Okay I will”.
He walked Arthur to his car.
“ We’ll see you then”.
“ Vesta just jump in".
