Colby The Guy Who...
Title: Colby – The Guy Who...
Author: scots_rock
Prompt: # 019 Him
Pairing: Don/Charlie
Fandom: NUMB3RS
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 225
Disclaimer: Not mine. This is fiction.
Feedback: Awesome! ^^
Author's Notes: If you haven’t seen the 2nd season yet (especially 2x07), you should not read this. Kind of spoiler-ish.
Don has recognized it some while ago. And it slowly begins to bother him. Charlie is always so fixed and focused on his work he may not even have noticed it. But Don has.
Actually, he doesn’t know what is freaking him out the most. The fact that Colby keeps watching Charlie – sometimes secretly, sometimes not – or the fact the look he gives Charlie is in no definition a buddy-kind-of-look. It’s the look Don sometimes wants to give Charlie but forces himself to get rid of it. He hates Colby for being so free and being able to be so open about his feelings. The only thing Don feels, however, is envy.
A slight grudge begins to grow inside him against Colby, the nice guy, the huge guy, the good-looking guy, the ex-army guy, the guy who saved many lives, the guy who saw many of his men dying, the guy who was at war, the guy who...well, the guy who has captured Charlie’s heart with one single smile.
Don sometimes wants to hit Colby so badly it almost hurts. It’s not only the way he looks at Charlie, it’s also his touches and words and the tone of his voice. Don sees Charlie’s eyes lighten up every time.
He knows that Charlie will never look at him the same way he looks at Colby.
