Chapter 11--Welcome to Storybrooke

Chapter 11—Welcome to Storybrooke

When we reached the dock in the town of Storybrooke, it seemed like one giant reunion. Everyone was hugging and crying. No one even noticed me and Felix. Many of the Lost Boys were greeted and offered homes. Homes and families. Something I’ll probably never have again.

“You just play like you know nothing, okay?” Felix growled in my ear. “I think we all know what Pan would do to you if you blew the whistle on him.”

“Of course. You know I’m the second most loyal person to Pan, after you.” I lied.

“He may think that, but I know better.”

Felix was always able to see right through me.

Soon a man asked what was going to be done with the two of us. I played my role nicely, considering most of it wasn’t a lie. I told them that I’d been held captive by Pan for many years, and that all I wanted was a home.

A girl with long, dark hair came to my side. “I’ll take her to Granny’s and get her some new clothes and a room. If you’d like you can even work at the diner to get a little money to find your way.”

The girl, whose name I found out was Ruby/Red, did exactly as she said she would. She helped me find a few outfits from her closet and got me a room at the inn.

“Thank you.” I said to her as she turned to leave. “No one’s been this nice to me in a long time.”

She smiled and left, telling me to get some sleep.

A few days passed and I hadn’t heard from Felix or Pan. I was actually getting used to this feeling of being free when I heard a knock at my door.

I opened it and my heart sank when I saw who it was.

“Miss me, my little Chess piece?”
