“You do?”
“Yes.”
“What’s it about?” She asked getting into the passenger side of the truck.
“Your daughter.”
Sara was all ears. “Ok…Really? What did you find out?”
“Well two things really.”
“Grissom, spill.” Sara huffed.
“I know where she is.”
“Will you tell me already?” Sara was losing patience.
“She is in Vegas.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Is she happy?”
“Well, that’s debatable.”
“Why, is something wrong with her?”
“She is in Foster Care.”
“What? Why? What happened?”
“We will discuss this when we get home, ok.”
“Alright.”
What could have happened? I hope her life wasn’t as bad as mine, which is too awful to think about.
They pulled into the yard and took the baby out and went into the house. Sara put Sam in her bed and returned to speak with Grissom.
“Ok, Griss, I need to know what happened, what went wrong?”
“Well, from what I understand, the people who adopted her were wonderful. They couldn’t have children and they really wanted her.”
“So what went wrong?”
“The father died and it set the mother crazy. They had no other family so she ended up in foster care.”
“How did she end up in Vegas?”
“I flew her here. Brass has her. Do you want to see her?”
“Oh Griss.” She threw her arms around his neck. “When can I see her? What is her name?”
“Her name is Amy. I’ll call Brass.”
“Yes.”
