Chapter Ten

Piper woke up with her head pounding like she had slept in a vice all night. The lovely sound of the blender made her shriek and the bright rays of the sun was not helping her volume one little bit.

She had been drinking a lot lately and there was still no way to locate Phoenix. She got up out of the bed and made her way blindly staggering down the hall and stairs to the kitchen to see Paige cooking up one of her secret Halliwell recipes to cure any hangover.

Paige pushed the glass over to her just as Leo orbed in to kiss his wife and sat next to her at the table, “I just got some news that’s promising about Phoenix.”

“What,” Paige asked as she put the orange juice back in the fridge.

“Turns out that Phoenix had an entire room full of demons vanquish themselves before he was spotted performing with the new lord of the Underworld at Club Mystika,” he told them.

“He was there,” Piper shrieked and then grabbed her head in pain as Paige finished, “And you didn’t tell us?”

Leo looked at his wife disdainfully, “You were drunk as hell and laughing at the water spots on the windows.”

Piper frowned, “I don’t remember any of that.”

“All for the better,” Leo said, “Plus, you could have blown up innocents.”

“You could have let me go,” Paige said, “I might have been able to get through to him.”

“It would have been too dangerous,” Leo told her getting some coffee, “There would have been demons everywhere.”

Piper snorted, “Ouch,” and then said, “How do we know he killed those demons? Phoebe did the same thing.”

“And,” Leo said pointing out the fact, “She came back to you. Plus, she never took out a room full of demons before either.”

“How did he do it,” Paige asked.
Leo smiled, “His voice.”

Piper just looked at him, “Just like with dickless?”

Leo nodded, “He can make anyone do whatever he wants just by using his voice.”

“Where is he at,” Paige asked.

“We are not sure as of yet,” Leo told them, “The Elders are having a very hard time locating him.”

“Hey,” Paige yelled at Piper who was walking out of the kitchen, “Where are you going?”

“To get the duct tape,” she hollered back, “In case he decides to make a little visit.”

Phoenix awoke to the all so familiar sound of demons chanting up a storm, literally. Spider was still curled up at his feet and turned his blue eyes on him, “Morning boy.”

Spider yipped and jumped up wagging his tail. Phoenix laughed and reached over for the glass of water on the beside talking a drink just as the door to his bedroom opened and a demon strutted in without so much as knocking or bowing, “That master want you in the main room now.”

Spider growled at the intruding demon and Phoenix scratched behind his ear, “Oh, I totally agree boy.”

Phyre was sitting at his desk and the Seer was about to hand him a glass of wine when a scream of pain and then muffled cries filled the hall causing her to drop the glass on the marble floor. Phyre was about to get to his feet when Phoenix appeared in a roar of flames. Phyre narrowed his eyes at his consort, “What was that?”

Phoenix smiled brightly, “Let’s just say, your little servant won’t be voicing any more demands to me ever again.”

“What did you do,” The Seer asked.

“Oh, you know,” Phoenix said casually as he pulled something out from behind his back and held it up, “I just had had him cut his own tongue out.”

He dropped it in the Seer’s hand and wiped his hands off on the hem of her robe smiling as if everything was bunny rabbits and sunshine, “What’s for breakfast?”

The Seer dropped the tongue in disgust as Phyre let out a deep sigh. The Seer was truly shaking. That red headed bitch was definitely worse than Phoebe had ever been.

Phoenix gazed around at the other demons present in the room, “If I was ya’ll I would learn to show a little more respect to your master’s consort,” he said smiling sweetly, “Or I might say something to have ya’ll do something I won’t feel sorry for.”

Phyre slammed his fists down hard on his oak desk causing it to break, “Enough Phoenix!”

Phoenix whirled around in a hiss of midnight blue silk, “Did you just raise your voice to me?”

The Seer backed away, “Shit.”

The other demons paled as well. This was not good at all. They were all too frightened to move less they draw a certain pissed off red heads attention to them.

Phyre growled, “Enough with the scaring the hell out of the minions!”

Phoenix pouted, “Fine.”

Phyre sat back down in his chair and pulled out a file handing it to the Seer, “Make sure they get taken care of as soon as possible.”

“Who,” Phoenix asked.

“Don’t worry yourself,” Phyre said kindly, “Let’s go to the pool.”

“Is that what you needed me for,” Phoenix asked, “A morning swim?”

“Yeah,” Phyre said.

Phoenix rolled his eyes, “I should have had him cut his feet off to.”

“Phoenix,” Phyre warned.

Phoenix smiled and took Phyre’s golden hand and walked from the room but not before saying boo to make the minions flinch. The Seer just stood there shaking from anger and fear, “Now what?”
******************************************************

Phoenix floated beside Phyre in the water and asked, “Who are you taking care of?”

Phyre swam a little ways off, “Something that should have been taken care of weeks ago.”

Phoenix grabbed his ankles and pulled him back, “Who?”

Phyre pulled gently free and said, “The banshee problem.”

Phoenix thought for a second, “Why?”

“They challenge my authority,” he told him, “Why not?”

Phoenix thought about it for a minute and decided to let it go. Phyre had no reason to lie to him since he now knew everything there was to know. Then he decided to play a little just to get under Phyre’s skin, “So, it’s ok for you to terrorize but not for me?”

That stopped him in mid stroke, “Terrorize?”

“Yeah,” Phoenix said licking his way up his abs which made Phyre shutter.

“It’s not terrorizing,” Phyre said, “It keeps order.”

“Oh really,” Phoenix asked as he ripped Phyre’s trunks off him.

“Phoenix,” Phyre gasped, “Stop!”
Phoenix looked into his face, “But, I don’t want to,” he said grabbing his cock and squeezed gently causing Phyre to jump a little.

“Stop,” he said, “Don’t you remember what happened the last time you did that?”

“Oh yeah,” he said, “We got the talk after you blew a hole through the roof of the barn.”

“I could accidentally kill you Phe.”

Phoenix smiled playfully, “I’ll be careful.”

“I said no,” Phyre said taking his hand gently.

Phoenix turned his head away, “Why did you stay with me, knowing you could never have sexual pleasure with me?”

Phyre could not believe that he had just asked him that question. He pulled Phoenix close to him and rested his head against his chest, “Because I love you,” he said, “You accept me for what I am.”

Phoenix did not know what to say, “There must be some way Kal.”

“It doesn’t matter to me,” he said, “I am just happy being with you.”

“”It does not seem fair for you to give me hand jobs and me not being able to do the same for you Kal,” Phoenix said.

“What if I told you that I went out in the middle of the artic every time I got horny and jacked off just imagining being inside of you,” Phyre asked.

Phoenix cocked an eyebrow, “I would have to ask how you are able to get it up in such cold temperatures.”

Phyre rolled his eyes and splashed him in the face causing Phoenix to laugh and they both had a water fight. Phyre swam up to him and kissed him only for Phoenix to gasp and go under the water as a vision assaulted his mind. Phyre pulled him up yelling, “Are you ok?”

“Cramp,” Phoenix said, “I guess I moved too fast or something.”

Phyre helped him out of the pool and Phoenix smiled at him, “I’m going to go lay down.”

Phyre looked at him concerned, “Are you sure you’re ok?”

“Yes,” he said, “I’ll see you later?”

“Of course,” Phyre said kissing him on the forehead.
************************************************************

Phoenix smiled at Spider who looked up at him from the bed, “Hey boy.”

Spider wagged his tail and yipped as Phoenix asked, “Can you keep a secret?”

Spider nodded his head and jumped up and down on the bed making Phoenix smile, “I have to go somewhere ok. So, if anyone was to come in I need you to run and hide ok.”

Spider cocked his head to the side and looked at him and Phoenix hit himself on the forehead, “Sorry boy, run and hide so they think you’re with me and that nothing is wrong.”

Spider ran around in circles on the bed and stopped with a yip and Phoenix scratched behind an ear, “Good boy,” Phoenix said and flamed out fully dressed.

Piper was walking down the stairs from the attic with some potions she had just made. Some were for melting the skin, a mist creator for an easy escape, a spell blocker, and so on. She was really in the mood to kick some demon ass.

Paige was in the kitchen cooking up some more really lethal potions. She really enjoyed the fumes and the poof sounds each ingredient made when you threw them in.

Leo orbed in as Piper walked in saying, “How those potions coming?”

“Just about,” she started and threw in the last ingredient and ducked as a huge poof went off, “Done.”

Piper snorted when Leo turned to look at her with soot all over his face, “Not funny.”

Piper helped Paige to vial and stopper the potions and they went into the living room where the rest of their supplies were. Leo followed them as they began to put stuff in packs when a demon suddenly shimmered in.

Piper yelled for Paige to look out when the demon threw an energy ball only for it to explode in the air and Phoenix appeared in a roar o flames shouting in a deep voice, “Kneel!”

The demon fell to his knees hard, “My lord?”

Piper held onto Paige as they watched their brother all decked out in fans of black silk stalk over to the demon, “Never return here, and if you tell anyone I stopped you, vanquish yourself.”

The demon paled and quickly shimmered away leaving Phoenix to smile in satisfaction. He turned around and smiled at his family, “Hi ya’ll, long time no see.”

“Just so you know,” Pipe said, “Your power will have no effect on us.”

“I know,” he said.

Paige sneezed and piper yelped throwing the potion she had been holding at Phoenix who stopped it with fire from his eyes causing it to explode in mid air, “But this power might,” he snickered, “Nice to see you to Piper.”

“That’s new,” Paige said and then smacked Piper’s arm, “Don’t vanquish our little brother.”

Phoenix laughed good naturedly, “Yeah, no vanquishing of the little brother.”

Piper glared at him, “You’re evil now.”

Phoenix giggled, “Am I,” he asked, “So far all I have done was try and have a rapist murdering pedophile kill himself and vanquished a bunch of annoying demons, oh yeah, and I just saved your lives.”

Paige gasped, “See, just like Phoebe.”

Phoenix put a finger up, “But, I love Kal, I will never leave him.”

Piper saw the ring on his finger and reached for another potion when Leo said, “You can’t sit the fence Phoenix.”

Phoenix smiled at the whitelighter and something dark passed behind his emerald eyes, “I can do whatever I want Leo. I’m not evil, I’m just me. I’m just me who happens to love Kal.”

“He’s a demon for god’s sake,” Piper snapped.

“Who would do anything to protect me,” Phoenix said.

Leo shook his head, “You have not seen his true face.”

Phoenix took a seat on the sofa, “Actually Leo I have, and it’s beautiful.”

Piper felt herself starting to get a little crazy again, “He’s a demon, you’re turned, your evil now.”

Phoenix shook his head, “Piper, you really should calm down.”

“I am calm,” she shrieked having Paige stop her from throwing a skin melting potion at that beautiful face.

Paige asked, “Who was that demon that was just here?”

“One of the insects,” Phoenix said, “He won’t say a word.”

“And you don’t call what you just did evil,” Leo asked.

“I had a vision,” Phoenix said, “I saved your lives, and plus, he’s a demon.”

Piper stalked out the room and up the stairs. Phoenix looked at Paige confused, “Was it something I said?”

Leo was about to tell him to leave when Piper yelled, “Get your all’s asses up here, now!”

Leo and Paige looked at Phoenix who just smiling and orbed up to the attic leaving him all alone. He looked around and jumped when Piper yelled, “You to demon lover!”

He snorted and vanished in flames to see Piper standing over the book of shadows, “If you’re not evil then the book will allow you touch and read what’s inside.”

Phoenix looked at the book, “Ok.”

He walked over to it and reached out to touch it when the book glowed and snapped itself shut. He took a step back in surprise and held his hand as if burned. A wicked realization swept over him leaving him numb, he missed Kal.

Piper narrowed her eyes, “This means you’re evil Phoenix.”

“But that doesn’t mean you can’t change,” Paige added quickly seeing the way he looked.

Phoenix looked around the room as if lost, and Leo noticed that his eyes had dilated from shock. Paige put a hand on his shoulder and Phoenix jumped back from the touch, “Don’t,” he said, “Don’t touch me.”

Piper could not stop herself, “The book won’t let you touch it now.”

Phoenix had to prove her wrong. He reached for the book and it glowed and jumped from the podium and moved under the sofa. He stood frozen as if he was turned into a statue as his eyes began to mist.

“You’re evil,” Piper told him.

Be blinked back the tears, “I saved your lives. I didn’t choose evil, I chose Kal.”

Piper shouted over Paige, “You chose darkness Phoenix! You sleep next to it every night,” she shrieked and then asked just because she could not stop herself, “Does it feel good when he sticks it in you?”

Phoenix let out a choked sob. He had never been spoken to so harshly in his life. Paige reached out for him and he backed away from her touch. He looked right at Piper whispering as the tears fell, “I’m a virgin.”

Piper blinked and was about to say something when another sob escaped him and he whirled around in silk vanishing in a roar of flames with her screaming his name.
******************************************************

Spider ran out of the closet and jumped on the bed running around in circles yipping as he wagged his long white tail and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw his master fall to his knees in tears. He began to growl wondering who had dared to hurt his master so.

Spider watched as his master fell to his face and let out a bark jumping from the bed. He ran over and licked his tear stained cheek. Phoenix wrapped his arms around him, “Spider.”

The demon dog whimpered and kept licking to comfort his master. Phoenix just let the tears flow and slowly fell to sleep whispering Kal’s name. Spider whined and trotted over to the dresser and pulled out the drawer with his strong jaws and gently picked up the teddy in lying in it and took it over to his master. He laid it in Phoenix’s arms and he hugged it close to his chest.

Spider sat beside his master and did not move until Phyre came in a few minutes later to find Phoenix in a swirl of silk lying in the floor tear stained and asleep. Spider barked at him as if to say, “You had better make him feel better if you know what’s good for you.”

Phyre petted the handsome demon hound and gently picked Phoenix up and Silk flowed all around him as he did so. He did not notice the object in his arms until he laid him on the bed. He watched Phoenix squeeze the teddy tight and whispered, “Kal.”

Phyre looked at the teddy. It had golden fur, blue button eyes, and a mop of shaggy black hair. He could not help but smile. He lay down behind Phoenix and spooned wrapping his arms around him. Spider jumped up on the bed and curled up at their feet watching the door, just daring someone to enter and disturb his masters.
