Chapter Nine

Incubus

Flora Winters

I do not own Torchwood.

Summary: The team discovers that there are more things in heaven and earth, but does this creature belong in either? This story will contain male/male relationships, lots of vulgar language (just because I love using it), and a couple of original characters thrown in here and there just to spice things up. Have fun and enjoy the story, ya’ll.

Chapter Nine

Jack found himself standing in a very dark place. The ground was firm under his feet, but, he couldn’t even see the nose in front of his face. It was just that dark. He was surrounded by darkness and it was alive, moving around before his eyes. The dark was all he could see. It was vast, empty, and cold. There was no life. Life could not exist in such a desolate place.

Suddenly, a bright beam of fantastic light descended from the sky, striking the lifeless ground like a brilliant arrow. A great voice rumbled through the darkness with a power that made the ground under his feet groan and tremble in fear. It caused Jack to fall to his knees when the darkness was totally separated from the light.

He was on the ground, but, everything was upside down. It looked like up was down and down was up, or was it the other way around. Oh, hell, it made his head hurt just to try and rationalize what the hell was happening. The ground spun under him, causing him to dig his fingers into rubble, just to hold on.

He opened his eyes to see that his world was upright once more and there was a vast pink sky over his head. The whole world was laid out at his feet and that was when a roar filled his ears. It was coming from behind. He spun around to see that a massive wave of water was coming right at him. His eyes widened in horror and the ground quaked under his feet as the ground seemed to rise up from under them.

He was on top of a vast mountain, falling back when the water struck its high cliffs, forking because of the obstacle, rushing around it on both sides. Land was rising up out of the depths in bursts of flame and steam.

The sky over his head was alive with energy and he could see that galaxies spiraled like necklaces in the vast vault. Lightning of all colors split the sky, striking down like lances at the new land.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” A deep voice asked from behind him. It was like the deadly silence of a depthless ocean.

Jack spun around to see a very tall man standing there. He was magnificent in his splendor. His skin was like burning brass that was polished to shine with radiant light. He had hair that was long, curly, and white as fresh fallen snow. The eyes that burned from within his extremely handsome face were like the light from a billion suns.

Jack gulped. The man was blinding.

“It is very nice,” a second voice said. It was softer, silkier, coiling like glistening scales.

Jack turned around to see a being that reminded him of Kain’s extraordinary beauty.

He had hair that was long, straight, and as red as lava spewing from the ground in the distance. It coiled and curled around his golden face like hissing serpents that could strike at any given moment. His whole body looked like it had been perfectly sculpted from molten gold. He looked like some great carved jewel that belonged in a safe somewhere. His eyes were solid back, and darker than any abyss. He was clothed in blinding darkness as to where the other guy was clothed in blinding lights.

“Very nice?” The man asked with a cocked brow. “Why must you be so mean to me, Lucifer?”

The fiery redhead chuckled and it was like the dying of stars. “I’m not mean. I merely speak the truth, Elyon.”

“Do you not like what I have created for us to play with?” Elyon asked, looking around with burning eyes that looked like they could scorch the place to ash at any moment.

Jack was in shock. Was this God and the Devil?

The slithering Leviathan glided across the ground in dark splendor to stand beside the Creator.

“Don’t sulk, my Lord,” he smiled, turning to him, caressing a shining cheek with a brilliant golden hand. “Why not fill this world with something more?”

“I was getting to that,” he said, taking the redhead’s hand in his own. “But, you were distracting me.”

“Was I?” The Devil smirked with lips like rubies.

“You are the most beautiful of all my creations, Lucifer,” Elyon spoke, suddenly pulling him closer. “How can I possibly create something even more so?”

Jack felt like he was getting a serious nosebleed or his brain was going to melt at any moment.

Lucifer put his hands to the Creator’s powerful chest, looking up at him through darkness. Those ruby red lips were so full and seductive. His beauty was like a rose. The beauty was only a distraction from the deadly thorns. Once you were pricked, you would never be able to look at another the same way again.

“I was blinded by his beauty,” a sad voice said. “I was so blinded that I could not see that I was about to prick myself.”

Jack turned to see that it was Elyon. It was the guy who was standing over there, holding the beautiful Serpent. His eyes were so full of sadness, it caused Jack to feel like his heart was about to explode in his chest. That was when the sadness was replaced by a deep wrath and it scorched with burning hatred.

“So, I created a Hell just for him,” Elyon seethed. “Let him do without my love.”

Jack was in shock. He couldn’t move, nor could he speak.

“I AM THAT I AM, Captain,” Elyon spoke, gazing down at him. “I AM ALL POWERFUL…but…”

He turned back to look at the image of BEAUTY, and closed his eyes. The whole world became dark and all that could be seen was the fiery redhead, standing there in the darkness in which he ruled.

“You,” Lucifer hissed like life stealing flames, pointing at the other image of Elyon. “You chose MAN over me!”

“It is not your place to question me!” Elyon boomed. “You are the created, created to serve your Creator!”

“I’ll serve you, all right,” the Serpent hissed, sprouting wings like a great dragon. “I’ll serve you straight to Hell!”

A bright blinding light encased the snarling beauty. He was blinded with rage.

“I LOVED YOU!” Lucifer screamed, clawing at the light, spitting and hissing flames and pure darkness at it. “HOW COULD YOU CHOOSE HIM OVER ME?”

“I don’t have to answer to you,” Elyon said.

Jack was cowering beside the stoic looking God.

Lucifer’s eyes of darkness widened in hurt and liquid fire streamed from them. He screamed, breaking through the light, racing at Elyon on wings of darkness, flaming sword in hand.

“I’ll cut out your shriveled heart!” He bellowed, raising his sword over the Creator’s chest. “And I’ll eat it!”

The sword descended and both images vanished in wisps of silver smoke.

Jack fell back on his ass.

“Lucifer betrayed me,” Elyon hissed like lightning, ready to bitch-slap something to the ground. “And then Man betrays me, too.”

Jack looked up at him.

“I hope you all enjoy darkness,” Elyon laughed like booming thunder. “Because that is all that is waiting for you worms.”

He threw his head back and laughed, vanishing into the darkness, leaving Jack to fall like a rock back into his immortal prison.

He gasped for breath, feeling strong arms holding onto him. Kain had stayed with him, just like he had promised. It made him feel warm after the wonder and horror he had witnessed. He looked up to see that Kain was smiling.

“I swear,” Gwen said, throwing the magazine down. “Some Americans can be so bloody stupid.”

“What do you mean?” Ianto asked. “Besides from the obvious…They did steal The Office, you know.”

Jack cocked a brow. “Well?”

“Look at that,” she said, pointing at the cover.

MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN

Kain snorted. “I love religion.”

Everyone turned to look up at him. He was lying across the ceiling, looking down at them with big blue eyes.

“Why is that?” Gwen asked. “Aren’t you supposed to hate God or something?”

“Oh, I do hate him,” Kain grinned. “I hate his fucking guts. But, do you know why ‘your’ God hates homosexuals so much?”

Jack’s eyes widened.

Ianto rolled his eyes. “Why?”

Kain looked down at him. “The Morningstar was more beautiful than any rose you could ever dream of finding, and his thorns, well, they were just as deadly.”

Jack felt like he was about to faint.

“And your point?” Gwen asked.

“Lucifer pricked him,” Jack whispered, causing Kain’s head to snap in his direction.

“Jesus never preached on homosexuality,” Tosh said. “Or, at least that’s what I’ve been told. I’ve never read the Bible, you see.”

“Jesus?” Kain snorted. “Never happened.”

Owen gasped. “Huh?”

“Do you honestly think the Creator would waste his time creating something to send and die to save a bunch of monkeys who turned from him in the first place?” Kain asked, grinning with fangs. “Why do you think there is only darkness when you die?”

Jack was too lost to pay attention.

“He shut us out,” Kain said, looking down at Jack. “Sorry about causing that for you all. It sucks to know you’re going to die one day, huh, Gap?”

Gwen looked like she actually wanted to cry. Was her lost loved ones trapped in darkness? “So, there really is only darkness?”

Kain floated down like a snowflake, landing on booted feet. “I honestly don’t think his selfish ass will ever open up again. He is always nursing his hurt ego, you see. Apparently, my stepfather hurt his feelings real good. The Creator sulks, seethes, and hates. The two of them could never see eye to eye.”

“God was taller,” Jack whispered, getting to his feet.

Kain turned to look at him. “And how do you know that?”

Jack shrugged. “I need to go pee.”

Ianto dropped his teacup. Did Jack just say that? Shit! That had been an original, too.

Kain was instantly at Jack’s side, taking his hand. “What’s wrong? You seem different ever since you woke up.”

“I’m fine,” Jack lied, giving him his best smile. “I just need to go drain it.”

Kain cocked a brow. “You do that.”

Jack nodded and left the room.

“I still have no data on what could have been sent through the Rift,” Tosh said, turning back to her computer. “If something did come out, it is not causing any problems that have been reported.”

Kain shivered. He had smelled Abel in those woods. But, it couldn’t have been. He was dead. There was no coming back from that…unless…you were the captain.

“Perhaps nothing did come out,” Gwen said, hoping. “It might have just been the Rift acting up and that’s all.”

“Hopefully,” Owen said, going over to sit down on the couch.

“What’s it like to live forever?” Gwen asked, walking over to stand in front of the incubus dream. “What’s it like to know that you can never die?”

Kain looked at her with intense blue eyes. “You get to see everything…and forget nothing.”

“Hmm,” she said, folding her arms across her chest, nodding her head. “That sounds like a fitting punishment.”

“Would you like to know what I did to the last woman who spoke to me like the way you are speaking to me now?” He asked, crossing his arms as well. He wanted to smack her head off her shoulders and watch it fly across the room to bounce off the wall.

“Not really,” she said with a smirk. “But, I’m sure you’re just dying to tell me.”

He leaned over, ever so close to her left ear, and whispered the naughty deed. She gasped, putting a hand to her mouth, blushing like a cherry.

“And that is why she was never able to make babies again,” he finished, walking away from her.

Ianto stepped up beside her. “What did he mean by that?”

Her knees were trembling and she raced out of the room. She had to go change her panties. She had never gotten so wet in all her life and this was just with his voice. Reese would probably kill to possess such a raw talent.

“Wait,” Owen said, holding up a finger. “Does that mean God and the Devil were…”

Ianto clapped his hands. “Here’s your tea.”

“Jack?” Kain asked, knocking on the bathroom door. “Are you all right?”

“I’m fine,” he called out. “I decided to wash my face and brush my teeth, too.”

“I want to go out.” He said, leaning back against the door, crossing his arms. “Will you take me out?”

The door opened, causing the sexy demon to fall backwards.

Please review and tell me what you think. I’m not really religious, so, blasphemy does not exist to me. If certain people were to take offence, I apologize. I’m not doing this to bash religion, I’m just doing this because its fun. Plus, God and the Devil would be hot lovers. Plus, if God wanted to, he could do it. He’s all powerful and he could smite anyone who says differently. In fact, he could smite me just for writing this. (Looks out for lightning, rainbow busses, and snakes).
