Forbidden Love
Chapter 10

On Thursday, as Luke had suggested, Rosco took a short trip to Capitol City. The purpose of the trip was simple, a visit to the Capitol City bank. The first step in Luke's plan to help Rosco break away from Boss Hogg, was the reason for the visit. Going into the bank, Rosco approached the first available teller and asked to speak with the bank manager.

If Mr. Thompson, the bank manager, was surprised to see the Hazzard County Sheriff in his bank, he hid it well. Though when he heard the man's request, he was unable to suppress the flash of surprise and curiosity that he felt. Quickly shaking off his surprise, Mr. Thompson helped Rosco to complete his business, before seeing him on his way.

Rosco finished his errand at the Capitol City bank as quickly as he could, not wanting anyone in Hazzard to know he'd been gone. Leaving the bank he climbed into his patrol car and headed back to Hazzard, hoping to return before he was missed. The minute he was in cb range, he could hear Boss hollering for him, and from the sounds of it, he'd been at it a while. Rosco instinctively reached for the mic of the cb to answer Boss' call. Drawing back at the last moment, he stopped himself, realizing that if he ignored the call it would help him convince folks he was serious. Grinning in anticipation, Rosco began to hum softly to himself as he drew closer and closer to his goal.

Striding into the sheriff's office, Rosco wasn't surprised when Boss opened his door and ordered Rosco into his office. Throwing his hat down angrily, Rosco stalked into Boss' office, carelessly leaving the door open. "What is it Boss?" Rosco demanded, surprising the county commissioner.

"Rosco, what do you mean talking to me like that?" Boss yelled. Not giving the sheriff a chance to answer he went on, "Never mind that now, look Rosco I got a job for you...."

"No." Rosco loudly interrupted him.

"No? Are you forgetting who I am Rosco? I don't know what's gotten into you, but you'd better just get over it."

"I ain't forgetting nothing Boss, actually I'm finally remembering who I work for and it ain't you."

"What are you babbling about?"

"I ain't babbling Boss, it's simple really, I'll even put it in words you can understand. I ain't helping you with your schemes anymore." Turning sharply towards the startled gasp, Rosco saw his deputies Enos and Cletus standing there. "Ain't you two dipsticks got work to do?"

"Uh, yes sir, sheriff," the two men stammered out, obviously flustered and shocked by what they'd just heard.

"Well then git, and quit listening in on other folks' private conversations," Rosco ordered, shutting the door in their faces. Turning back to Boss, Rosco took a deep breath and continued in a quieter voice, though no less firm. "Now look here Boss things are gonna change and I'm serious. I meant it when I said I ain't working for you anymore. I don't want to hear it, you're gonna listen to me for a change," Rosco cut JD off before he could say a word. "I already told you I ain't helping with your schemes, and I ain't gonna let you keep trying to railroad the Duke boys or anybody else into prison. After what happened to Bo, I realized that I can't keep on helping you. Ain't no amount of money worth having innocent people getting hurt, or worse. Now you are my sister's husband and for her sake I'll turn a blind eye to your dealings, as long as nobody gets hurt and nobody gets framed."

"Well, well, well, now I see what this is all about. You're feeling guilty over Bo Duke getting shot, ain't you Rosco? I understand that, I feel almighty bad about it too, but you don't want to be making any hasty decisions. I tell you what Rosco, I'll forget what you said just now, I'll even give you a couple of days off so you can come to your senses. Now ain't that fair? You go on now Rosco, take some time before I'm forced to do something we'll both regret," Boss told him, in a voice dripping with syrup.

"Don't you threaten me Boss. I was hoping to avoid this, but guess I'm gonna have to do it. I been keeping track of all your schemes over the years Boss. Fact is, I got enough evidence to send you to prison for a long time. Now I got it put up in a real good place, somewhere you'll never find it, so let me tell you how it's gonna be. I ain't helping with your schemes, and if you try to frame any innocent people or anybody gets hurt cause of your schemes, I'll turn you into the State Police myself. You understand me?" Rosco backed Boss into a chair, as he demanded an answer.

For several minutes the two men stared at each other, neither willing to back down. When Boss realized that Rosco was serious, he finally backed down. JD Hogg was nothing if not a practical man. He was disappointed that he would no longer have a tame sheriff in his pocket, but he knew he'd have to accept it, for now. "Alright Rosco, have it your way. You'll change your tune soon enough. It won't take long before you get tired of scraping by, and if you think the Dukes or anybody else in Hazzard is gonna believe you.... Well then you're an even bigger dipstick than I always thought you were. You just remember one thing Rosco, when you get tired of people treating you with no respect and you're belly starts growling, I'll be here to help. And I ain't gonna forget the way you talked to me either, now get out of my office, Sheriff," Boss ordered, smirking at his brother-in-law before turning away from him in disdain.

Rosco wasn't really surprised to find that by the time he'd left Boss Hogg's office the story was all over town. *Looks like Luke was right again. No wonder Bo believes in him so much, glad he's on my side this time. I can't be thinking like that, Luke ain't helping me, he's helping Bo. Can't let myself forget that, Luke and the others are only helping me, because they love Bo.* As Rosco walked around town, writing tickets for parking violations, he couldn't help noticing the looks and whispers directed his way. Walking down the street, he enjoyed the looks of surprise on the faces of the townsfolk when he picked up the fake fire hydrant and threw it in a nearby dumpster. Continuing on, he kept surprising folks as he wrote tickets for real violations only. The biggest surprise and Rosco admitted the most enjoyable was when he returned to the courthouse and wrote a ticket to Boss Hogg for parking in a red zone. Grinning from ear to ear, Rosco walked back into the sheriff's office and called his deputies, ordering them back to the office.

After informing Enos and Cletus of the changes that were to take place in Hazzard, Rosco ordered them back out on patrol. Leaving the office, Rosco headed out on patrol himself, planning to meet up with Bo to let him know how things had gone. Thirty minutes later, Rosco was pulling up to the old Jensen place, smiling in anticipation. Climbing out of the car, he headed inside the old farmhouse, hoping his lover was already here.

Stepping inside, Rosco grinned at the sight of his lover staring out the back window. Quietly coming up behind him, Rosco slipped his arms around Bo's waist, squeezing lightly, "I missed you last night sweetheart."

"Missed you too cowboy," Bo said, turning in his lover's embrace and lightly brushing his lips against Rosco's mouth. Drawing back slightly, Bo's look turned serious, "How'd it go?"

"Just about like Luke figured on. Boss tried to ignore what I said, then he threatened. Good thing Luke suggested putting that evidence in a safety deposit box, and no I didn't tell Boss where it is, so quit worrying. Anyway Boss didn't like that none, but there ain't much he can do about it. I tell ya Bo, I'm sure glad Luke decided to help. His idea of making sure Enos and Cletus heard me tell Boss that I ain't helping him was great. Shoot, by the time I left Boss' office the story was all over town. You should've seen the looks I was getting in town, especially when I wrote Boss a ticket for parking in the red zone."

Bo broke out in laughter as he imagined the looks on their faces and the look on Boss' face when he came out and saw that ticket. "I can't believe you did that, I just wish I could see the look on his face when he finds that ticket. I sure am glad Luke's plan worked, I just hope I can carry out my part Saturday night."

"You'll do fine Bo, and you know he's right. If we go out to dinner together and act like a couple on a date, it's gonna cause problems. Luke's way is better, we'll let people get used to seeing me and you out as just friends. Once they get used to that idea, then we can start being affectionate in public. In the meantime we'll just have to enjoy our private time. At least now you won't have to worry about making up excuses to get away," Rosco reminded him.

"You're right cowboy, don't worry I'll stick to the plan, but it won't be easy. Ya know what? I'm tired of talking, I can think of a lot better things to do with our time," Bo whispered, leaning forward to kiss his lover. Running his tongue across Rosco's lips, Bo slowly deepened the kiss, as he began to unbutton the older man's shirt. Placing his hands under Rosco's undershirt, Bo lightly brushed his hands up and down his lover's back. Moaning with need, Bo could feel himself hardening as the passion of their kiss deepened.

Breaking the kiss, Rosco pulled back slightly, "Not here sweetheart, let's go upstairs where we can be more comfortable."

"Mmmm...comfortable is good," Bo murmurred, leaning in and nuzzling the older man's throat.

Pulling away, Rosco took Bo's hand and led him up the stairs, into the bedroom they'd made into their own. Laying down on the bed, the two men were soon lost in each other's touch, completely unaware of the world around them. Pushing the older man onto his back, Bo slowly undressed his lover, kissing and nibbling at his skin as he did. When Rosco was naked before him, Bo let his eyes rove up and down his lover's body. Drinking in the sight before him like a man dying of thirst, leaning down, he began to lightly nibble on his lover's throat, just below his adam's apple. Bo began to kiss and lick his way down his lover's chest. Stopping to give some special attention to the man's nipples, Bo grinned at the sounds of pleasure coming from his lover's throat. Reaching down, he put his hand around Rosco's cock and began slowly pumping it, keeping the rythym slow and steady. Moving sensously up his lover's chest, Bo soon returned to ravishing Rosco's lips. As Bo poured every ounce of love and desire he felt for his lover into the kiss, he was unaware of Rosco undressing him.

Pulling Bo's shirt off and dropping it onto the floor, Rosco gently pushed the younger man onto his back. "My turn sweetheart," he moaned, his voice thick with desire as he began to open his lover's jeans. Nudging Bo's hip, he waited for his lover to raise his hips, allowing him to pull the jeans and boxers down his long legs. Kissing his way back up Bo's legs, Rosco stopped when he came to the younger man's erection. Leaning forward, he caught the drop of pre-cum with the tip of his tongue, barely touching Bo's cock as he did. The teasing touch made Bo jump, jerking his hips upward, instinctively wanting more of his lover's touch.

"Oh God! Rosco...yes, please suck me, need you...please," Bo begged, his voice rough with need. The feel of his lover's mouth wrapped around his cock was nearly enough to make him come off the bed. It took every ounce of control he had to stop himself from ramming his cock down his lover's throat. The fight to control his instinctive urge to plunge into the moist heat, left him trembling from the effort. "Feels so good," he whispered encouragement as Rosco began to wrap his tongue around his length while moving up and down Bo's cock. The sensations his lover was causing were so intense, Bo was sure he couldn't take anymore and then the older man pushed a long finger into him, causing Bo to jump at the jolt of desire that raced through his body. The twin sensations proved to be too much, and a moment later Bo was screaming out his lover's name as he lost control, shooting his load into the waiting throat. Coming down from his orgasm, Bo pulled Rosco up to him, claiming his lips in a soul searing kiss. "Want you inside me cowboy, now," Bo demanded of the older man.

"If I must," Rosco teased him. Reaching for the lube, he applied a small amount to his fingers and began to prepare Bo for more. Pushing two fingers into Bo's ass, he pumped them slowly in and out, gradually scissoring them apart. After several minutes, he withdrew his fingers and applied a generous amount of lube to his cock. Placing the head of his cock at the entrance to Bo's body, Rosco slowly pushed his way past the muscle. Waiting a moment for Bo to adjust, he knew when his lover shoved back against him that it was time to move. Shoving himself slowly into his lover's heat, Rosco was soon buried to the hilt inside his young lover. Encased in the tightness, Rosco spent several seconds simply enjoying the sensation. Pulling back out, he was soon moving in and out of that wonderful heat, steadily increasing his rythym. As he felt his orgasm building in intensity, he couldn't hold back any longer. Increasing the speed and strength of his thrusts, it didn't take long for Rosco to reach the peak and fall over the edge, screaming his lover's name as he came.

Slowly and gently pulling himself from Bo's body, Rosco collapsed beside him on the bed. Drawing his lover into his arms, Rosco tilted Bo's face up for a tender kiss filled with love. "Love you sweetheart," Rosco whispered, sighing in contentment when Bo laid his head on his chest. Sometimes this was Rosco's favorite part of making love to Bo, holding him in his arms afterward and just cuddling. As they lay together , Rosco absently ran one hand down Bo's back. Unconsciously tightening his grip on the younger man, he didn't even realize it until Bo moaned lightly in protest. "Sorry sweetheart, thinking too hard I guess."

"Worrying is more like it, you told me not to worry, so don't you either."

"Yes sir," Rosco replied, giving a mock salute and kissing the other man. " I just wish it was that easy. I love you Bo and I don't want to hide anymore, but I don't want to see you get hurt either. I think Luke's idea of letting people see us as friends first is a good one, but I...."

"But what?" When Rosco didn't answer, Bo began to wonder if maybe he'd changed his mind about telling people after all. He really hoped that wasn't it, he was tired of hiding their love like it was something to be ashamed of. "Cowboy? We don't have to tell anybody outside our families...if you don't want to," Bo offered, trying to hide his disappointment.

Rosco knew Bo well enough to hear the disappointment and to know that Bo thought he was ashamed of their love. "It's not that Bo, not exactly," placing his fingers on the younger man's chin, Rosco forced his lover to look at him. "I love you Bo, more than I could ever say. I told you this in the hospital, but I know you didn't hear me. Bo Duke you make my life complete and I can't imagine going on without you in my life and in my arms. I don't want you to think that my reluctance to tell people about us has anything to do with being ashamed. I'm proud as a peacock to be able to say that I'm loved by somebody like you. You're so young and beautiful, inside and out, I can't hardly believe you're mine to love. No sweetheart, my reluctance is, well I just can't shake this feeling that something bad is going to happen if we tell anybody else. Don't worry, I'm just being foolish, it's probably just nerves," Rosco assured him. As he pulled Bo into a tight embrace, letting his lover's presence soothe him, he prayed that his fears were unfounded.
