Ch 10
Sitting on the couch, Grissom looked over at Sara. “Why didn’t you tell me about Jillian?”
“I figured you wouldn’t want to know. I didn’t want to listen to you lament about not wanting to be a father.”
“How do you know that’s what I’d say?”
“Grissom, you weren’t ready for a relationship let alone a baby.”
“That’s not fair, Sara.”
“No. After everything we had been through, our relationship couldn’t survive.”
“We didn’t really try.”
“We didn’t seem to want to. I’m happy now, me and Jillian.”
“What about me?”
“I’d never keep her from you, that wouldn’t be fair to you or her. If that’s what you are asking.”
“I can help you with money and stuff.”
“It is not necessary. We are just fine thanks.”
“Sara.”
“What Grissom?”
“Why are you being so difficult?”
“Difficult. I’m being difficult? Know what, leave. Just get out, we don’t need you.”
“Sara…” She walked away and slammed the door to her bedroom.
Grissom left.
Sara collapsed on her bed in a fit of tears. She had to get away from him before he saw how weak she actually was. Sara was sure if he asked her into his open arms she would have accepted. She was over that now. Her needs came last, Jillian’s were first. She would be happy with Grissom for a while, but she wasn’t sure it would be forever. She longed for it to be forever, but who was she kidding.
Jillian was only a baby. She would never remember meeting her father. It was better for her to have met him now and have him walk out that later when she could remember.
The baby cried. Sara ran to get her. She brought her back into bed with her. “Hey baby girl, looks like it is just you and me again.” Sara rubbed her face.
“We will be all right. I promise you that. My life was awful, but I will make sure yours isn’t.” Sara kissed her daughter lightly.
“Hungry?” She asked the infant. “It’s been a while, I bet you are.” Sara shifted herself in order to nurse the baby.
They fell asleep together.
Grissom walked back to the hotel and fell into his bed. He screwed up again. Now what was he going to do? He missed Sara so much and even though he just found out about Jillian, he missed her too. How could someone miss someone they barely knew? I have to do something, make it up to her and Jillian, I have to.
He jumped up and called the local florist. The plant worked last time, why wouldn’t it work again.
“Floral Mysteries. You want it, we got it. Dave here, how can I help you?”
“Yes, hello, this is Gil Grissom. I’m in room 252 at the Comfort Inn. I would like to send some flowers.”
“Who do you want those to go to, Sir?”
“ Please send them to Ms. Sara Sidle at 423 Meadowbrook Lane”
“What would you like?”
“What do you mean what would I like?”
“For flowers sir,”
“Oh, I think a plant would be nice. Do you have any orchids or lilies?”
“Yes sir, we have both, which do you prefer?”
“I guess lilies.”
“Alright sir, what do you want the card to say?”
“The card?”
“Yes sir, the reason for sending this plant.”
“Oh…right. Let me see, I’m sorry, and from Grissom.”
“Is that everything sir?”
“Yes, please send the bill to the hotel.” He hung up the phone.
There we go, that should do it. The plant worked last time. He settled in to go to sleep.
Promptly at eight am, there was a knock at Sara’s door. Baby in her arms, she went to see who it was.
“Miss Sidle?” The man asked.
“Yes. Who are you?”
“I’m from Floral Mysteries. I have a delivery for you.”
“Ok.” She was confused.
“Please sign here.” He pointed to the line.
Sara took her package and went inside. She dropped it on the table and reached for the card. She read the note. Should have known! What does he think a plant will do? Sara left the plant on the table and went to feed the baby.
Hours past and Grissom had no response from the plant he sent Sara. She should have called him by now. Maybe a plant isn’t enough? What else could I do? He got up and went to the gift shop at the hotel.
He walked around for a few hours. Finally he spotted the perfect gift. It was a charm bracelet. It could be made as big or as small as you want. Would this fit Jillian? It would eventually. It is perfect.
“Can I see that one?” He asked pointing to the bracelet.
“It’s not very popular. No one seems to be into the bugs.” The salesman laughed.
“I guess no one is an entomologist.”
The man looked puzzled. “I guess you are?”
Grissom nodded. “Yes, and that is perfect for my daughter. Please wrap it up.”
My daughter, I like the sound of that. I hope Sara will allow me to give this to Jillian.
He walked to the park where he first saw Sara and the baby. He secretly hoped they would be there too. They weren’t. He kept walking until he reached Sara’s apartment. He stood back and watched for a while before approaching the door.
He rang the doorbell. Butterflies invaded his stomach. What if she doesn’t want to see me? What if she won’t accept my gift? Am I really too late?
Sara came to the door with a receiving blanket over her shoulder. Grissom figured she had just put the baby down.
“Grissom,”
“Hi Sara, can I come in?”
Hesitantly she opened the door to allow him access. He stepped inside.
“Did you get my plant?” He asked softly.
“Yes. Thank you.” It doesn’t change anything.
“I have something for Jillian. I wanted to bring it over before I left for Vegas tomorrow.” He passed her the box.
“You go back tomorrow?”
“Yes.”
Sara opened the box to reveal the tiny charm bracelet. It has bugs. With tears in her eyes she looked at Grissom. “It is beautiful.”
Grissom held out his arms. Sara couldn’t refuse. She stepped into his embrace.
“It was the only bug bracelet in the store. I know it's big now but it will grow with her.”
“Thanks.” Sara sniffled.
“I will make sure she gets more charms too.” He said proudly.
“Wanna see her?” Sara asked, looking into his eyes.
“Please, If you don’t mind.”
Sara parted from him and held out her hand. Wordlessly they walked to the nursery.
“She is so beautiful.” He said, looking down at the sleeping child.
“I think we are biased.” Sara forced a laugh.
“Sara.” Grissom began. “I don’t want to leave the two of you. I feel empty without you.”
“Grissom, please don’t start.” She sobbed lightly. “I don’t have the energy to fight you.”
“What would it take for you to come back to Vegas with me?”
“I’m not sure if I ever will. How would I explain this?” He said placing a hand gently on the baby.
“You wouldn’t need to. You could stay at home and raise Jillian.”
“That wouldn’t be fair to you.”
“Why is that? I won’t be happy unless my family is with me.”
Family? We are your family?
“Will you come back to Vegas with me?”
With tears in her eyes Sara nodded. Grissom took her into his embrace. “I love you, Sara.”
Sara sobbed harder. She loved him too. She missed him so much. I hope this isn’t a mistake.
Grissom took some time off of work to help Sara and the baby move and get settled in. They decided to invite everyone over to introduce them to Jillian. They didn’t even know that Sara was back, let alone that she had a baby.
“Griss, what are they going to think?” Sara asked.
“They were once your friends, I’m sure they won’t think anything. I’m sure they will be happy for you.”
“Don’t you mean us?” Sara shot back.
“Right, us. They will be happy for us.”
“I hope so.” Sara leaned in and kissed him.
“You ready for bed?” He asked. “The baby will be up early. She hasn’t quite adjusted to sleeping here.”
“Do you think she misses Frisco?” Sara asked.
“I’m sure she misses her surroundings, but she will adjust.”
He stood up. “Come on, you need some sleep.” Sara stood up and walked to the bedroom.
It was quite an adjustment for Sara to go from having her whole bed and her apartment for herself and Jillian to sharing their lives. She liked this new side of Grissom. He really had turned over a new leaf.
Lying in bed with Sara in his arms, Jillian started crying. He kissed Sara's forehead. “I’ll tend to her.” He said, getting up.
Sara sighed; it was so nice to have help. She lay there listening to Grissom talking to the baby on the baby monitor.
“Hey sweetie, are you hungry?” Grissom asked the baby picking her up. “Daddy has a bottle for you my little Jilly-bug.”
Sara smiled. That breast pump was a great idea. Not only do I get a break, Griss gets to bond with Jilly-bug. It was so cute the pet name he gave her.
Grissom was humming to the baby. Sara figured he was rocking her back to sleep. She heard footsteps coming back towards the bedroom.
He crawled back into bed with Sara. She cuddled into his arms. “Thanks.”
“For what?”
“I heard you with Jilly.”
He was embarrassed. “You did?”
“Yes. I thought it was adorable. You are so good with her.” Sara shot him a smile.
“Ready to sleep?” He asked.
“I was thinking we could do something else.” She shot him a sly grin.
“Are you saying what I think you are saying?”
“I hope so.” She rolled over and straddled him. Gently she kissed him.
He growled under her kissed. He forgot how good she felt. “Umm.,”
Sara reached under and removed his shirt. She placed warm kisses all over his chest. “Umm, I missed this.”
“Me too.” He choked.
She began nibbling on his earlobe. She kissed down his jaw line. He rolled her over and attacked her mouth. He lifted her shirt up over her head. Umm pregnancy was good to you, Sara. He loved the sight of her plumper breasts. He gently kissed the skin of her breasts. They were engorged and full of milk.
The baby cried. Sara got up. “It’s my turn.”
She ran to get the baby and brought her back into the bedroom with her. “She’s still hungry.” Sara said, lying down with the baby. Jillian gently suckled her breast.
Grissom stroked the baby’s face. “You are a hungry little girl.” Almost as hungry as your old man.
Sara looked over at Grissom and mouthed, I’m sorry. He knew this was going to take some getting used to.
The baby fell asleep. Sara carried her back to her crib. She came back to the bedroom and Grissom was asleep. Sara finished undressing and crawled into bed with him. She longed to be with him. She had been aroused before the baby woke up. Should I wake Grissom? Sara leaned into him and brushed her full breasts against his chest. She toyed with the waistband on his boxers and pulled at them until he woke up and assisted her. He too was still aroused.
Sara purred lightly as she took his engorged flesh into her mouth. She flicked her tongue over the head and licked it, lightly teasing him. He sat up in the bed.
“Hey!” He said, looking down at Sara. She shot him a glance and went back to work on what she was doing. Grissom moaned as she pleasured him. She swallowed his fluid and crawled back up to kiss him.
She slowly kissed his chest. “Umm, you taste so good.” She purred.
He flipped her over. “I’m sure you do too.” He grinned.
Sara writhed as he began to plant soft warm kisses over her body.
“Yes, my dear.” He growled. “You do taste lovely.”
He headed south. Upon reaching her thighs she parted her legs to welcome him. Sara giggled lightly as his beard tickled her.
“You smell like you want me.” He thought out loud.
“Umm, but I do.” She moaned. “So much.”
He started slowly, tickling and teasing. He was savouring every moment and driving Sara crazy in the process. “Grissssssss,” She howled.
He flicked the hard nub with his tongue and she let out a scream that made her whole body shudder. He crawled back up to look at her, bracing himself on both arms on either side of her. “Sara, open your eyes and look at me.” He requested.
Her eyes were clasped shut as the orgasm flowed throughout her body.
Sara opened her eyes and looked at him.
“Love you.” She breathed.
“Want you…NOW!” She screamed.
He shifted his hips and entered her slowly at first, teasing her. Sara growled again. She was tired of the teasing. He quickened the pace pumping faster. Sara clenched her fingernails into his shoulder. The pleasure outweighed the pain as he shoved his hard cock inside of her. He pumped furiously as his orgasm exploded within her.
Her breathing was stressed and quick. She had an orgasm again.
Breathless, he collapsed upon her and they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
“I figured you wouldn’t want to know. I didn’t want to listen to you lament about not wanting to be a father.”
