Basically, all the male officers get ‘em some.

Prologue

“Anything?” Archer asked, leaning over T’Pol’s station. “A
nebula? A comet? M-Class planet? Anything at all?”

“Since fifteen seconds ago?” the Vulcan replied, fixing him
with a blank stare. “No.” She turned back to her work,
apparently unconcerned that her Captain was going stir-
crazy. They had encountered nothing of interest for days,
and the brief periods Archer spent on the bridge, twiddling
his thumbs or demanding they scan the same bleak area of
space one more time, had become tedious to all involved.

“Hoshi, are you picking up any signals from any nearby
planets?” The communications officer didn’t bother to
speak, or even look at the Captain, afraid her exasperation
might show in her eyes. She just shoor her head and went
back to looking busy and waiting for her shift to end.

“Mr. Reed-” The Armory Officer couldn’t contain his
exasperation, and the way he rolled his eyes and the set of
his shoulders as he turned toward his Captain had already
silenced whatever inane question Archer was about to ask
even before T’Pol interrupted.

“Captain, I have something.” Archer had turned and was at
her station in the blink of an eye. “Directly off the port
bow,” she continued.

“You mean it snuck up on you?” Archer teased. “What is
it?”

Then it all hned ned so fast no one could complain that
things weren’t exciting aboard Enterprise anymore.

There was a blinding flash of blue light in the center of
the bridge. As everyone turned to look at it, shielding
their eyes with their forearms, an explosion rocked the
ship and everything went from blinding to pitch black.
When the emergency lights cut in a moment later, there in
the center of the bridge where the light had been was a
woman. As the crew watched, she collapsed right into the
Captain’s chair.
