Chapter 1: The Doctor "Dances"

Author's Note: This is what I have to say about the “cannon” of Doctor Who...

The Doctor remembers every Doctor Who story ever told. Every episode, target book, comic strip and every game of companions and TARDISes you played as a kid. The universe he lives in has no record of it, because paradoxes and divergent dimensions and the time war have reset things. But the Doctor remembers and sometimes when he is sad it's because you've stopped being 8 years old and he can't run around the school playground with you anymore.

The TARDIS sat on the surface of another new and exciting planet, waiting for the return of her passengers. Inside the strange little ship, the main room sat dark and empty, the various screens and monitors black or displaying screensavers of Gallifreyan text.

The TARDIS seems to suddenly perk up, the lights turning on, the room warming up and the sounds of the ship increasing ever so slightly in volume. A few seconds later the doors of the ship opened and two humans stumbled in, followed by the TARDIS’ resident Time Lord. As soon as all three were inside the ship, the Doctor slammed the doors closed and the ship automatically locked the doors as the Doctor raced over to the control panel and got the TARDIS moving through time and space.

Now all three of the time travelers were covered in a thick black goo that looked like a cross between jello and chocolate pudding. The Doctor and Jack had the worst of the substance, while Rose only had a few splashes, mostly around her arms and on her hair. Rose was trying in vain to get the black goo off of her, while Jack had already given up on getting the goo off his clothing and was leaning against a pillar, watching the Doctor pilot the TARDIS.

Rose sighed, realizing that she couldn’t get the goo off of herself. Running a hand through the part of her hair which wasn’t covered in goo, Rose said her goodnights to the two men and moved towards the back rooms of the TARDIS, intending to take a nice, long, hot bath.

Jack watched as the young woman vanished into the back rooms of the TARDIS, before he shifted his gaze over to the Time Lord. The Doctor had finished charting a course for the ship to take and had pulled back from the controls to examine the goo which had covered his clothing. Jack watched the Doctor pick at the drying goo for a few seconds, before the human couldn’t contain his laughter and burst out laughing.

“What?” the Doctor asked, staring at Jack and tilting his head like a confused puppy.

“You just had to see what the button did, didn’t you?” Jack asked, smiling at the Doctor. “And because of that we ended up getting chased by the Blob!”

The Doctor rolled his eyes before turning to the side and pulling off his leather coat, before holding it up in front of him. “What do you think? Should I try to save it?” he asked Jack, holding the goo-covered leather out for Jack to look at.

“I trust in the cleaning power of the TARDIS.” Jack smirked as he walked down the hall, the Doctor following him. After only a few steps, the changing hallways of the TARDIS shifted so that the two were standing in her laundry room, tossing their jackets and shirts into the machines before tuning to find their bedrooms.

Or at least that was what the two set out to do. The TARDIS, however, had a different plan for Doctor and the Captain…. the TARDIS could change her interior any time she wanted, and she had all the space she needed to carry out her plan. So that was what she did. The TARDIS stretched out the hallway that the Doctor and the Captain were walking down, giving them time for fate to take effect.

Jack stretched as he walked, smirking slightly when he noticed that the Time Lord was staring at Jack’s bare chest and trying to hid the fact that he was very interested in what he saw.

It was at that moment that Jack realized the TARDIS was stretching out the hallway… as if she wanted Jack to make what was… in all probability, a really stupid move. Offering up a prayer of thanks and plea for help to the clever ship, Jack turned on the charm and shifted his gaze to the Time Lord.

“Doctor?” Jack asked, his voice completely innocent. The Time Lord blinked and looked over at the Captain in confusion. “Do you like what you see? Is that why you're blushing… Time Lord?”

Jack Harkness smiled at the Doctor, his lust for the Time Lord who had saved his life there for all to see. The Doctor froze, his mouth opening and closing a few times before he managed to say anything to the ex-Time Agent.

“Jack, I’m old enough to be your---” Before the Doctor could say anything, Jack stopped him by pressing a finger to the Time Lord’s lips. Jack didn’t say anything; instead he just stared deeply into the Doctor’s eyes. The Time Lord practically gasped, while Jack held the Doctor’s gaze, letting his shields drop so that nothing separated the two.

“Jack…” the Doctor practically gasped, afraid of what he saw in the ex-Time Agent’s eyes. The Doctor pulled back, and would have turned away, if Jack hadn’t stopped him by gripping his shoulder.

“Doctor…” Jack whispered, feeling the Time Lord’s body stiffen when he realized he couldn’t run from the human. “You’re surrounded by all sorts of people… but you keep all of them at arm’s length.” Slowly, Jack’s arms wrapped around the Doctor’s shoulders, pulling the two together so that Jack’s breath was caressing the Doctor’s ear. “Would you push me away if I told you the truth?”

Slowly, Jack’s eyes drifted closed, and he leaned forward, until it was impossible for him to get any closer to the Time Lord. Softly, he whispered the three words he’d wanted to say ever since he’d first set eyes on the other man… the three words he knew terrified the Doctor more than anything else in the verse. “I love you.”

Jack suddenly found himself pressed against the wall of the TARDIS, the Doctor kissing him deeply as his hands traveled up the human’s bare back. Jack shivered as struggled to hold on to the Time Lord, the temperature in the hall seeming to rise, causing sweat to drip down his back and his arms. When Jack pulled back to gasp for air, he found that the Doctor was carrying him into a room which had only just appeared next to the two time travelers.

Jack had no time to look around the room before he found himself lying on a luxurious bed which was covered in black silk sheets. Jack stared up at the Doctor, who was looming over him, the Time Lord’s hands already making quick work of Jack’s pants. Jack leaned up, meeting the Doctor in a brutal kiss, as he wrapped his legs around the Time Lord in order to bring the two closer together.

“God…” Jack whimpered as he pulled off the Doctor’s leather jacket. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”

The Doctor smiled down at Jack, his eyes lighting up as he leaned down to nuzzle at Jack’s neck, nipping gently but firmly enough to leave his mark. “Guess I don’t have to ask if you’re sure.” He smiled as he spoke, looking up at Jack’s eyes, which seemed to shine with joy.

Jack laughed, his smile only growing as the Doctor’s fingers practically danced down his body before gently preparing Jack for the joining which was about to take place. Jack’s eyes slipped closed and he moaned as the Doctor continued to nuzzle at his neck, making sure that the Captain had a mark which everyone could see.

Jack’s eyes shot open and his body hitched forward, mouth open in a silent scream as the Doctor thrust in deep. When Jack finally managed to find his voice he screamed in pleasure, his nails digging into the Doctor’s back as he tried to thrust up against the Time Lord, only to be held in place as the Doctor looked down at him, a proud smile on his face.

“So beautiful…” the Doctor whispered, leaning forward and tilting Jack’s head up so that the two men’s lips met in a deep kiss. Jack’s eyes rolled back up into his head as the human and the Time Lord began to move as one.

Despite knowing that Time Lords were psychic, Jack was taken completely off guard when he felt the Doctor’s mind brush against his own. Jack’s eyes rolled back in his head, his hands clutching at his new lover as the two were joined on a higher level.

Sex was one thing, but psychically joining with someone? During a psychic joining you saw everything your partner was… and at the same time your partner would see exactly what you were. That was something that Jack had never experienced… something he’d only dreamed of.

Jack shivered in delight as the Doctor gently touched him, both physically and mentally… and Jack realized that this, this was where he belonged… twined so tightly around the Doctor that he couldn’t tell where he ended and the Time Lord began.

Jack came with a strangled sob, his human heart racing to catch up with the twin hearts of a Time Lord, the very same Time Lord who was now curled around Jack as if he were some sort of snake.

The Doctor was speaking, Jack realized, as his eyes grew heavier and heavier… Jack couldn’t tell what the Doctor was saying, he didn’t recognize the strangely beautiful language… of course there was almost no way that Jack could have understood what the Doctor was saying, since he was speaking in his native language.

The Doctor was whispering to his mate in Gallifreyan, the language of the Time Lords. Before he drifted off to sleep, the Doctor pulled Jack closer to him and kissed Jack’s cheek. As the Doctor fell asleep, the TARDIS turned out the lights in the bedroom and seemed to purr contently.
