Danny Tamberelli Figures It Out
(No smut here - I suck, I know..)
Charlotte was somewhat of a celebrity. Not a very good one, in her own mind, but she made a decent living. She was a beautiful baby. Originally born in Colorado, her mother (now deceased) entered her into Colorado’s ‘Most Beautiful Baby’ pageant. She won first prize.
After Charlotte’s mother died, her family picked up and moved to California. It was her mothers last wish that her daughter become a star. Her father sent her to every acting agency in the city in hopes that she would strike it big. He even eventually shortened her name, Charlotte, to Charlie, for show purposes. Unfortunately, despite all those years, and Charlotte’s persistence to keep her original name - it stuck.
Charlie landed a few commercials as a child, as well a several spots in short lived television shows. She didn’t score her big break until she auditioned for a improv show many years later; ‘All That’. She couldn’t really call it a ‘big’ break, but it was big for her.
A semi-regular spot on a semi- popular kids show was better than nothing, and good enough for her. The only downfall in the situation was the fact that she was forced to relocate to Orlando. She gained a small bit of popularity, but not much. Its hard to achieve stardom when you aren’t very much of a regular. But a small part in each episode was enough to keep the money coming.
It was one fateful Friday morning that everything changed. She wasn’t scheduled to work that day. The show wasn’t filming until Saturday, so Charlie had nothing to do. She got a call from the network saying they needed her to come in as quickly as possible.
Charlie jumped into her car and made her way to the studio. Upon entering the doors she was grabbed by the arm and quickly escorted inside, literally tossed into a dressing room. She wasn’t told what was going on, but there was a jumpsuit lied out for her and a makeup artist in waiting.
She glanced down at the bright orange suit. It looked like a prison uniform. There was a patch on the breast pocket that read ‘Figure It Out’. She gasped. Being on this show was a huge deal. Only the best of the ‘All That’ cast got the privilege of being on the ‘Figure It Out’ panel.
A stage manager burst through the door, and Charlie jumped. She was so lost in her thoughts, it surprised her that she noticed anything else around her.
“Charlie!” The woman practically yelled, moving the mouth piece of her headset to the side so none of the crew would hear her shouting. “Why aren’t you dressed yet?!”
Charlie was surprised. She was still confused as to what was actually happening. “I don’t even know what’s going on!” She confessed, picking up the jump suit and inspecting it.
“Lori Beth cancelled!” The stage manager said quickly, listening to something being said through her ear piece. “You’re the only person we could find to fill her spot! Now hurry!” She was being rushed. If there was one thing Charlie hated, it was being rushed. “It’s a half hour until we start filming and you still need hair and makeup!”
Charlie now understood the bustle. It was almost show time, and she was no where near ready. Quickly she stripped her clothes, not even noticing as the stage managers eyes went wide and she hurried from the room. The jumpsuits were supposed to be worn with clothes underneath but Charlie didn’t have any, and she didn’t much care anyway.
She quickly snapped the jumpsuit shut and turned, admiring herself in the mirror. This was her big break. If she did good on this episode it could mean a bigger spot on the show, or perhaps an eventual return to Figure It Out. Bright flashing lights of Hollywood, and dollar signs swam throughout her vision.
There was a knock at the door, and Charlie was snapped from her daydream. The stage manager was back. She opened the door a crack to look in, and upon seeing Charlie fully dressed, ran in; the door banging open behind her. “Let’s go!” She grabbed Charlie by the arm and they sprinted down the hallway into hair and makeup.
It didn’t take long for hair and makeup. Simplicity was best in this case, and in this short amount of time. After all, she was no Summer Sanders and therefore did not need the attention nor time that it took for Summer to get ready. Charlie’s hair was long and naturally curly, the makeup artist (Brent) simply pulled it back into a pony tail and lined her eyes with a small amount of makeup.
If there was one thing Charlie was confident about, it was her looks. She knew as well as anyone that makeup was not a necessity when it came to her looking pretty.
“Let’s go! Let’s go!” The stage manager was back. It was like she popped up out of no where, most of the time when Charlie least expected it.
