I do not own Smallville and I don't make any money from writing this for ya'lls entertainment either. That is why its called a fanfiction. You can't make any money off writing this stuff.

Summary: This is a story about love, betrayal, and all the wicked magic in between. This story will contain boy love, lots of language, violence, and will take place in an alternate universe. If you don’t like stories where boys kiss boys, flap off.

Prologue

Is it a dream?
All the ones I have loved calling out my name
The sun warms my face
All the days of my life, I see them passing me by

--Within Temptation

The magical radiance of the full moon glittered on his feathery black wings as shimmering water danced around his changing figure in silver brilliance. He now stood upon the surface of the misty lake with tears in his molten green eyes as he turned to the one who had cursed him.

“Why are you so sad, my love?” The wicked Enchantress asked with a sinister violet smirk on her beautifully frozen white face. “You only have yourself to blame for this.”

The silent tears streamed down his golden cheeks like liquid moonlight. His heart was breaking all over again.

“I am teaching you a lesson,” she said as the wind whispered like a warm breath through her long dark hair. “There is nothing more frightening in this world than a woman scorned.”

“I don’t love you,” he said, turning his face away from those frightening olive green eyes. “And you can’t force me to do so, Lana.”

The evil Enchantress threw her head back, cackling with wicked laughter. It was like the sound of priceless crystal being shattered upon a marble floor. It echoed all around with dark malevolence.

“I no longer want your love, Clark,” she smiled with vicious white teeth. “All I want is your pain and your sorrow.”

He turned away from her completely now, letting his tears fall to his golden feet. He began to run away from her across the surface of the water and into the dark forest.

“Run all you like! That’s what you men do! But, you’re hardly a man, Clark!” She called after him on a frigid wind. “You will only wind up right back under my heel where you belong!”

It was like this every night. He would run just like this, through the coiling mists and the hissing shadows. But, it was always the same. He could not escape this mansion by the lake. All he could do was run in agonizing circles.

He stumbled and fell to his knees, weeping in pain. The man he loved thought him dead. Had he moved on with his life? Had he found someone else to live his life out with? It was too much. The thought of some woman or another man being in his arms made him scream.

He had tried to kill himself on so many occasions. Her magic was just too strong. She had thought of everything. She would not allow him to die. She was all around him.

Lana was the moon in the sky, the water in the lake, the leaves on the trees, the rocks under his naked feet, the air he breathed, and everything else around him. There was no escaping the wicked web she had weaved with her dark devices.

“You broke my heart,” her voice hissed on the winds, stabbing at him like icicles. “I will cause you to suffer for all of eternity.”

And so it was for a thousand years. The lonely black swan was unable to die and could only become a beautiful man under the light of the moon on the surface of the lake. He eternally cried and longed for the one he loved as her wicked laughter endlessly haunted him.
