Author's Note: This may be my first story, but I hope you don't consider this an amateur story. This is a Tommy/Kim fic so no bashers please. Also this is set during Dino Thunder / 2004. Please review, no flames, constructive criticism welcomed, and please enjoy!
Summery: With the death of the former yellow ranger, Trini,
Kimberly returns home only to find out that her past has come back to haunt her.. Not only is her power coin is in existence but she must return to Angel Grove to find out everything Zordon's death brought years ago. But what happens when she does return to her true home and what she thought was a blessing turns out to be a disaster when she is attacked by Elsa, wanting to take Kimberly to none other than Mesogog. He knows Tommy's true weakness, which is the Pink Ranger. Will Tommy and the Dino Thunder Rangers be able to find her? And how long will Kimberly's powers last?
- Part One - Tragedy brings Hope
Angel Grove was a place well known as the home/base of the Power Rangers, or it used to be known as that. A storm was raging and the streets were abandoned except for a yellow cab. A woman clothed in black sat in the backseat staring out the window, as the rain trickled against it and a slight form of fog appeared as she breathed heavy. She was heading for Angel Grove Airport, heading back to her home in Florida. She rarely returned to her hometown of Angel Grove except for the one exception..visiting her best friend's grave site.
*FLASHBACK*
The sky was turning from day into night as a woman walked through a cemetery. She stopped and fell to her knees by a grave placing the yellow roses, she held in her arms, by the grave that read, "Trini Kwan". Tears started to drop from her eyes as she pressed her fingers against the letters engraved in the stone. "I can't believe it's really been 3 years..I miss you so much Trini." She thought back to the day of the funeral...
Trini was her best friend and she felt like she lost everything the day she received the call from Jason. Not only did the funeral bring heartache but it also brought a confrontation meant to happen. She saw the man she loved, but lost, a few years back as she wrote him a break-up letter. After the funeral she spoke with Tommy and they ended up in a terrible argument that forced both of them out of each other's lives again.
*ARGUMENT*
Tommy and Kim headed over to a back table away from everyone talking about the memories they shared with their fallen friend, Trini. Kimberly sat down and placed her hands on the table and looked up at Tommy.
"I hope you are happy with Katherine." She said her old feelings of self-consciousness coming back.
As soon as Tommy sat down he was taken back by her comment.
"What do you mean am I happy with Katherine? How's that boyfriend of your's that you left me for?"
Kim gave him a confused look and sat up in her chair. "I have no idea what you are talking about, you are the one that broke up with me Tommy, sending me a letter in Florida saying I was only like a sister to you and that you would much rather be dating Kat. I tried to talk to you at Muranthias, but when I saw you hug Kat after the fight, it just confirmed the letter." She revealed as tears formed in her eyes remember reading it. That was the hardest weak of her life, she had been training non-stop and couldn't get in touch of any of her friends let alone Tommy, and then she received the letter.
Tommy frowned getting angry. "What kind of made up story is that Kim?! You are the one that sent me the break-up letter saying you found someone else and that I was only like a brother to you. Stop trying to back out of it, you know you sent it so just admit it. Don't make up some story to try and make me feel sorry for you. It won't work!"
They ended up fighting and yelling more after the confrontation but it only brought tears to Kim and she eventually left, Jason soon following after her. That was the last time they spoke or heard from each other, besides from friends.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Kimberly held a box in her arms with an envelope attached to the top that read, 'URGENT.' The box that was under it read 'Anton Mercer Industries INC.' She wiped the tears away from her eyes and slowly opened the letter.
Dear Kimberly,
I know this letter may come as a shock to you, but there is something you must know... I know you have heard this many times over the last six years but in the battle to save Earth, against my sister Karone, Zordon's life was taken, but what you don't know is in turn with claiming most of the evil in this world it not only took my powers but several of the other Ranger's as well. He left a message with me that was specifically meant for you, but he told me not to reveal it until the new power came into effect. I recently got back to Earth from Ko-35 and discovered there are new Dino Rangers fighting a new force of evil. I am also sorry that we could not meet in person but...I'll just get to the point. You must return to Angel Grove and to where the Command Center used to reside. With the death of Zordon, he used his strength to restore two powers; one of them being yours. Enclosed in the package is everything you will need. I wish you the best of luck.

Kimberly covered her mouth with her hand as her eyes trembled as she read the letter and the memories flooding back of the day Jason told her of Zordon's death. Tears formed in her eyes as they then released, streaming down her face. She held in a gasp as she took all of this in. "Why..this..why now? Oh Zordon.." She spoke softly as she closed the letter and then started to open the package. Her eyes widened as she saw what was inside. She picked up a pink communicator, the one she wore so many years ago, and slipped it onto her wrist as she closed her eyes feeling the cool metal against her skin. She then found a smaller box and when she opened it she gasped out as she grabbed the medallion that was and still is precious to her. She ran her fingertips over the Pink Power Coin as she finally smiled. When she heard the Cab Driver speak she quickly closed the coin within her hand and tipped her head up.
"We are now pulling up to Angel Grove Airport." He said stopping the cab.
Once Kimberly paid the driver, she stepped out of the cab grabbing the letter and package and headed inside the airport. She didn't carry any luggage because it was a day trip that she -thought- she was making. She had no plans on staying any longer than a few hours. She looked around and tried to think of the appropriate place to teleport but she needed to use the phone before she did any investigating of the power chamber. She walked over to a pay phone and quickly dialed a number. She rolled her eyes when it went to the answering machine, 'This is Jason Scott, leave me a message!' Simple and short, just like Jason always was.
"Hi Jase.. this is Kimberly..." She raised a brow as the connection went dead. Apparently she was not meant to tell Jason about any of this.
"Just my luck." She sighed running her hands through her long brunette hair.
Kimberly moved from the pay phone to the women's restroom. She looked and made sure no one was in there before she looked at her communicator. "I hope this works.." She said and then pressed the right button and she felt the sudden sensation of teleporting and she disappeared in a wave of pink energy.

Kimberly reappeared in what was left of the Power Chamber. She looked around as everything was dark except for a few spots visible from the moonlight shining in from the partial exploded ceiling. She ran her hand through her hair as she looked around. It was definitely different than the Command Center. She saw the encasement of where Zordon would have been and felt teary-eyed but suppressed it. Kimberly continued to look around the power chamber as memories of her days as a ranger were rushing back. But sooner than they came back they faded as her pink power coin started to glow. "What..." She asked in confusion. To add to the confusion a figure stepped out of the darkness and with a loud scream came running at Kimberly and threw her sword out at her but before the sword collided with Kimberly her power coin activated as it radiated pink energy and started to wrap around Kimberly and soon a huge light went around her body. Elsa's sword was reflected back as she dodged it. Kimberly held out her power coin as if her morpher was there and the words that were so long forgotten came to her lips again, "Pink Ranger Power!" She yelled as she was once again morphed into the Pink Power Ranger.
"Yes, it worked!"
Elsa frowned as she came into the moonlight glaring at the Pink Ranger. "I guess my master was right about you, and the fact that the power would work for you."
Kimberly's eye brow rose inside her helmet as she frowned. "Who are you and who's your master?"
Elsa looked down as she smirked. "The name's Elsa, Pink Ranger, and my master is Mesogog, your worst nightmare!" She then let out a loud groan and held out her hand and got a devilish look on her face. "ATTACK!" She yelled as tons of tyrannodrones came running from behind her after a flash of green appeared.
Kimberly saw this and went into her fighting stance as she smiled. "I guess it's - BACK TO ACTION! -" She yelled as she quickly went into action as she jumped into the air and flipped over a few of them as they ran into the wall and she jumped on their heads and soon flipped to the ground. Her eyes widened as the dinosaur-looking-creatures came at her like the putties of the past...but ten times as strong. "I can do this.." she spoke softly to herself and then jumped into the air and flipped forward kicking three of them back and then kicked two more of their legs out. Once they were all down she turned to Elsa who came at her quick, growling like a dinosaur. She jumped again flipping over Elsa and kicked her from behind sending Elsa twisting into the air and against the wall.
Elsa quickly got up and cocked her head as she laughed. "Is that the best the ORIGINAL Pink Ranger has?"
Kimberly frowned. "Never underestimate me, dinosaur breath!" She yelled as she ran toward her. "Ki-ya!" Kimberly yelled as she tackled Elsa to the ground and then punched her face and when she went to jump away, Elsa grabbed her leg as she flipped Kimberly up into the air and then stood, kicking her in the stomach sending Kimberly flying through an opening of the Power Chamber. Kimberly screamed as she twisted into the air and fell to the ground hard hitting the rocks as she fell further down the path. As she tried to stand up her vision began to blur reminding her of a time several years ago. "No...not again. I have to do this.." She whispered as she managed to get up but only to see 20 or so more tyrannodrones running down the hill followed by Elsa.
-- Meanwhile --
Hayley gasped as her scanner zeroed in on the fight in Angel Grove. "A Pink Ranger? How..." She turned looking at Tommy who was coming up behind her. "Is there another gem? How is there a Pink Ranger?" He asked her not really registering the fact that it was Kimberly. "Why is Elsa attacking her? And why in Angel Grove..?"
Tommy was working on some of his papers as he got up to take a break. As soon as he did, he walked up behind Hayley and his eyes widened as he saw the screen. "That's not a Pink Dino Ranger...that's the original Pink Ranger..." He said softly as he knew exactly who it was. He couldn't believe this was happening. "..Kimberly...but how.." He watched in horror but then quickly came to his senses. "Alert Conner, Ethan, and Kira, and have them meet me there."
Hayley tried to protest but Tommy had already made up his mind.
Tommy flicked his wrist and yelled, "Dino Thunder Power Up!" And before she could stop him he disappeared in the invi-portal.
-- Outside the Power Chamber --
"Power Bow!" Kimberly yelled as she called for the weapon as it materialized in her hands. She jumped into the air and sent several arrows at Elsa and the Tyrannodrones. "I don't know how much longer I can last..." She said as they soon were all around her going in for the attack. She sent more arrows but they were all closing in on her as she backed up. She gasped as she was grabbed by someone.
Mesogog appeared in an invi-portal and grabbed the Pink Ranger as she struggled against him. "Dr. Oliver's one true weakness...you are priceless." He said in his sadistic tone with a hint of laughter. Kimberly struggled against him before she fell weak to the ground. "I'm sorry Zordon..." Her vision soon faded to black as she disappeared with Mesogog in the invi-portal.
Right when they disappeared Tommy had appeared and yelled, "NO! KIMBERLY!"

Ok so that's it for chapter one.. I hope it was an ok start for my story. Please let me know your thoughts and comments, but please no flames, only constructive criticism. I should have the next chapter up in a few days.. pending I get some reviews. BTW I am not a huge Kat fan but I won't be bashing her, I just always preferred her as a villain.
