A/N: I love Speed and Ryan. There needs to be more stories with them in it as a couple. This is for the 20 dates challenge.
Summary: First dates are fun, especially when you can use them to freak out fellow co-workers.
First Date
Ryan was nervous. Really, he knew that Tim was out to his co-workers, but they barely tolerated him. He was the person who was meant to replace Tim and then stayed on like a lost puppy. Eric was always vocal about how desperate some people were for a job if they tried to replace people who were shot on the line of duty.
Ryan was glad that he was good friends with Tim though. They had been friends since their University days and they supported each other with their decisions. When Tim came out, Ryan was glad, but that was short lived when Ryan heard the other cops on patrol complaining about the faggot CSI. So, Ryan did what he could to be the officer on scene when Speed had to work at any location.
As time went by, Ryan didn’t need to protect Speed as much. However, when he got shot, there was a distinct feeling of loss and a desperate need to know that his best friend, that he was in love with, was going to make it. When he found out that he would, Ryan applied to help out in the lab, after explaining to the other cops that Tim would prefer someone he knew to help out and do what he could for the victims.
Ryan’s cop buddies understood and supported him, and were the only ones other than Tim who cared about him at first. He was received with hostility and while Ryan understood that they were worried about Tim, they didn’t have to turn around and blame Ryan for trying to kill him.
It took time, but when Tim heard what was happening at the lab he gave the team the longest lecture that he ever gave. Now, while everyone treated him with kindness, Eric was still hostile towards him. It was after one too many beers that Ryan was complaining to Tim when he blurted out that he loved him. All but running out of the room, Tim caught up with him and asked him out on a date to do it properly.
So, here Ryan was waiting at his apartment for Tim to pick him up and for them to go out for dinner at one of the best restaurants in Miami. Dressed in a pair of black dress pants and a dark green dress shirt, Ryan was pacing in his hallway. However, he still jumped when there was a knock on his door.
Opening the door Ryan was pleased by the sight that greeted him. Tim was dressed all in black, but it was a pair of black dress pants and a black silk shirt. Getting a smile Tim handed Ryan a box of chocolates, Ryan’s secret pleasure. Putting them on the table in the living room, Ryan locked up and let Tim drive them to the restaurant.
Tim drove them to Forge Restaurant and Lounge. There the pair enjoyed a nice romantic meal by the waterfront. They kissed and held hands as they ate and as they were in a private room the staff did not bother them. When Ryan stepped outside for some fresh air, he ran into Eric.
“So eating out alone now Wolfe? How much more pathetic can you get?” The Cuban snorted at him and Ryan simply raised an eyebrow in response.
Ryan didn’t have to retort as Speed came out, not noticing Eric and kissing Ryan full on the lips. He only realised he had an audience when he heard a indignant “What the Fuck?”
Seeing Eric there, red in the face and glaring at Ryan, Speed chuckled. “Eric, it’s good to see you but my date and I have to be off. We still have much to do and the night isn’t over yet.”
Walking away with a lighter step, Ryan walked hand in hand with Tim on the beach thinking that this was the best first date ever.
End.
Hope you all enjoyed. I’m writing a challenge from Peja about 20 Romantic Dates.Hope this one worked!
