Old Ghosts and New Friends

This story is a crossover story between Dukes of Hazzard and the
Magnificent Seven set in my Secrets universe. I am posting this portion for the
benefit of those not familiar with the Magnificent Seven. In 1960 a western
movie appeared that was destined to become a classic, The Magnificent Seven. In
the late 1990's a television series began airing based on that movie, it
starred:

Michael Biehn as gunslinger Chris Larabee a man grieving the
loss of his wife and son in a fire several years earlier ordered by a former
lover still in mourning Chris wears mostly black.


Eric Close as
sharpshooter and former bounty hunter Vin Tanner who now has a price on his own
head after being set up for a murder he didn't commit. Chris and Vin met when
they joined forces to save Nathan Jackson from being lynched and share a unique
connection described by Josiah Sanchez as being two halves of the same
soul.(only in fanon, not in canon)


Dale Midkiff as ladies man and
Chris' longtime friend Buck Wilmington,Buck was raised in a whorehouse by his
mother which left him with a unique and respectful view of women. He is a former
lawman.


Ron Pearlman as son of a missionary, Josiah Sanchez who may
have left his faith, but whose faith hasn't left him.


Rick Worthy as
former slave Nathan Jackson, who learned the healing arts as a stretcher bearer
in the Civil War.


Anthony Starke as gambler/conman Ezra Standish.
Ezra was raised by his mother Maude though raised is perhaps too generous. Maude
seems to have pawned Ezra off on various relatives and friends throughout his
childhood unless she needed him for a con.


Andrew Kavovit as JD Dunne
a former stable boy from back east he came west looking for adventure after the
death of his mother.



Although the series was short-lived it
gained a faithful fan following with a large amount of fanfiction being written
based on the series. After it left the air a new alternate universe was created
by Mog; Magnificent Seven ATF, in this universe the seven are now ATF agents
living in Denver, Colorado the characters are essentially the same.



Chris is still leader of the seven, his wife and son were killed
several years ago in a car bomb meant for him.

Vin is the team
sharpshooter/weapons expert

Josiah is the team profiler

Nathan is
the team medic

Buck is the team explosives expert

JD is the team
electronics/computer expert

Ezra is the team undercover
agent


I will try to incorporate descriptions into the story but since
I don't want it to read like a police report I will give descriptions
here.


Chris is 6' tall, blond hair, hazel eyes and trim
build


Vin is 5'11" long curly brown hair, dark blue eyes, killer
smile and trim build


Ezra is 5'8" wavy brown hair, emerald green eyes
and a trim, compact build


Josiah is 6'1" gray hair, blue eyes and
stocky build, usually has a mustache


Nathan is 6'5" black hair and
brown eyes trim build


Buck is 6'3" black hair and dark blue eyes and
stocky build, also usually has a mustache

JD is 5'8" brown hair and hazel
eyes with a compact slightly stocky build.

For those not familiar with
The Dukes of Hazzard, this show was on t.v. from 1979-1985. Set in the fictional
town of Hazzard County, Georgia(though never specified it was heavily implied)
the show centered around the Duke family.

Uncle Jesse the Duke patriarch
played by Denver Pyle, Uncle Jesse stood 6' tall with gray hair, beard and
mustache and blue eyes. Jesse was a stoutly built man who made a deal with the
government to stop making moonshine in exchange for his nephews
freedom.


Luke Duke played by Tom Wopat. Luke is 6' tall with brown
hair and crystal blue eyes and a trim athletic build. Luke is the oldest of the
Duke cousin and with his cousin Bo is on probation as a part of Jesse's deal
with the government.


Bo Duke played by John Schneider is 6'3" tall
with blond hair and sapphire blue eyes, he has a trim athletic build. Bo is the
youngest of the Duke cousins and the most naive of the three.


Daisy
Duke played by Catherine Bach. Daisy is 5'8" tall with long brown hair and blue
eyes she is a slender girl without being skinny. Considered by many to be the
epitome of southern womanhood.


Other members of the Hazzard community
are:

Boss JD Hogg played by Sorrell Booke. Boss is about 5'8" severely
overweight, balding with a fringe of gray hair and brown eyes. Boss is as
crooked as he is fat and spends most of his time schemeing to make money and put
the Duke boys in jail, not necessairly in that order.


Sheriff Rosco
P. Coltrane played by James Best. Rosco is 6'1" tall with black hair and blue
eyes, he has a trim build though middle aged spread is setting in. Rosco used to
be a good sheriff but when his pension got voted down in the last bond election
he turned crooked, he is Boss' right hand man.


Deputy Enos Strait
played by Sonny Shroyer is 6'2" tall with brown hair and blue eyes. Enos is the
only honest lawman in Hazzard and reportedly the oldest virgin in Hazzard. He
has had a crush on Daisy since seventh grade.


Cooter Davenport played
by Ben Jones is 6' tall with brown hair and light blue eyes. Cooter is the best
mechanic in Hazzard and a staunch friend and supporter of the Duke family. He is
on the scruffy side with a bit of a pot belly, he is your basic good ole
boy.


In my Secrets universe Bo and Luke are not just cousins, they
are lovers. At this point they have been lovers for several years and everybody
in Hazzard recently became aware of that fact.
I hope this information will
be helpful in reading the story.

LIST AND NON-LIST AUTHORS PLEASE NOTE: I'd like to spend less
time archiving the lists so I have more time to work on the stories I've got in
progress but I do need you're help to clear up some time to do this. That saidk,
please, guys, it would be a great help if the authors took an extra minute or
two and uploaded their fics to the archive when they post the lists. Its as
simple as cutting and pasting the story (no coding works best) into the story
box. I'm available to questions if you need help figuring out the archvie
process, or if you've lost your password. And while your there, consider
creating your personal story page if you haven't already by adding your older
fics as well.


LISTS DATABASE

I'm building a href="http://www.zoomgroups.com/group/makebelieveelves/data/1">database of the
lists associated with this archive on zoom. It was begun basically for the
archivers, but since YGs TPTB decided to delete my listowners ID there are a lot
of lists that needed first post approval, that can no longer be moderated. I'm
including those lists and the new lists that are being built to replace them as
well. Its going to take some time to get it all up and available, but I'll try
to add a few lists a day.

MAKEBELIEVE UPDATES/PIMPING THE UPDATES

Daily updates are posted to the href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MakeBelieve_YG">MAKEBELIEVE_YG. These
updates include both the new stories and challenges posted to the site.
The
list sibs are also encouraged to pimp their favorite new arrivals on list each
day so if you post stories with one of the many makebelieve lists you might want
to stop by and see the nice things being said about your work
THE CASE OF THE
MISSING YG ID
As you probably know, the YG ID I used to moderate my lists was
killed awhile back, leaving many of the lists without a moderator. I've been
rebuilding these lists and asking the sibs to transfer to the new list. New
lists are being announced on the news section of this site on the bottom of the
homepage, and in the categories page. Simply click on the YG prompt and transfer
over.
