Just Dinner
Disclaimer: I did not create the world that is Stargate I just long to live in it!
“Just Dinner?” Sam said, not sounding a bit convinced.
Becca tucked a strand of coppered brown hair behind her ear and rolled her eyes towards the heavens two-dozen stories above them.
“We can get some unclassified work done, without being cooped up underground in a lab.”
“I see the way Daniel looks at you and I fail to see how you will get any work done if he gets you alone off base,” Sam replied.
“Sam, you misread those looks. Daniel worries about me. He was there for me when I broke up with Kyle and proceeded to get myself shot off-world.” Becca countered.
“I’ve know him much longer that you have Bec and believe me those looks have nothing to do with worry” Sam said patting Becca on the shoulder as she left the younger girls lab.
Dr. Rebecca Black sighed and leaned back in her chair. At twenty-six she was the youngest PhD in the Stargate program, and moving swiftly up the ladder. She was a civilian but could under most circumstances hold her own with any SG team she was assigned to. She made sure of it with regular trips to the gym and combat training. To look at her you would never know it. She was just over five feet, petit but curvy with long hair that leaned in the direction of Red.
‘Okay self time to leave the Bat Cave’ she thought, pushing her small wire frames up on her nose and pinching the bridge of it.
She crossed to the far wall and picked up her phone while she gathered her purse and briefcase, strapping in her laptop. “Daniel?” she asked when the line was picked up on the other end.
“Yes”, came his reply.
“I’m blowing this joint. Six O’clock don’t be late.” She ordered, because of their kindred work-o-holic spirits.
“With bells on”, he answered and replaced his receiver.
Dr. Daniel Jackson, SG-1 team member and head Archeologist for the program, stretched his arms above his head and thought to himself ‘You don’t know what you’re in for kid’, with a wicked grin. He had been secretly in love with her since he scooped her off a battlefield after she was hit with a staff weapon. She was far too young for him and he just couldn’t bring himself to give a damn. In a mannerism so identical to Becca’s it would have given anyone pause he pushed his own glasses higher on his nose and pinched the bridge of it. “Here goes nothing,” he whispered.
A/N: I know this first chapter is short and a teaser. I have way more written but am have trouble figuring out where to break it up. Anyway please please please grace me with your input good bad or ugly.
