A different beginning

A different beginning.

(Author's notes): Hi this is my first none B@J story. This story is completely AU. It's set in the year 2002 instead of the 1970's Brian and Justin are best friends and grew up together. They are both bisexuals. Melanie and Lindsay are also bisexuals and are best friends who grew up together. Brian and Justin meet Melanie and Lindsay in high school. Plus Brian's father is not named Jack kinney I decided to change the name and character to Daniel kinney. I don't like the rude, unforgivable and abusive nature of the character Jack kinney. I have all decided to use the name Cara instead of clare, for Brian baby sister. One of my middle names is Clare and I'm not to fond of it. This story is an Brian/Melanie and Justin/Lindsay pairing. Not many people have ever tried to actually write about these four characters in this form of relationship. I love being different so I decided to have a go and see if the concept will work in any shape or form. Lets hope it does work, wish me luck.

Chapter. 1
Brian and Justin.

Fourteen year old Justin Craig Taylor the only child of Jennifer and Craig Taylor, was sitting near the pool side edge in the back yard of his family home in the suburbs. He was in the process of finishing a sketch of the guy whom was paid to clean out the pool. Justin put down his pencil and sketch pad. Then whipped the back of his hand across his forehead removing the sweat from the effects of the 95 degree heat wave that had over taken the whole of America since Febuary. Which was extremely strange considering the pitt's was usually freezing at that particular time of year. They were now in April, and the heat wave still didn't appear o be easing off. Justin thought to himself well at least there is only a month left until the summer holidays start and school is let out until September.

Justin laced his fingers backwards throughout the silky strands of his light blond hair. He turned around when he heard his mother calling out to him "Justin have you finished applying the sun lotion like I asked you to. Justin replied yeah mom I'm all done." Jennifer a small built woman with shoulder length light blond hair who was currently six months pregnant with her second child, walked up behind her son and bent down so she was eye level with her son. She looked down into her sons beautiful ocean blue eyes that mirrored her own. She smiled and replied "Good because the last thing we need is for you to get a nasty case of sunburn or sunstroke."

She told him "the kinney's have just arrived, would you be willing for there son Brian to come out here and sit with you, he is the same age as you. Justin nodded and asked mom who are the kinney's? Jennifer replied I work with Joan Kinney at the estate agency she and her husband Daniel and her only child Brian are moving into the house next door to us. Justin nodded and said, ok." Jennifer stood up straight again and told her son she would send Brian right out and that dinner would be ready with in the hour.

A few minutes later a tall chestnut brown haired and hazel eyed boy came out of the house and walked towards Justin. Brian Andrew Kinney was also fourteen and the son of Joan and Daniel Kinney. Justin looked up at the other boy as he shielded his eyes away from the bright almost blinding rays of the sun. He was absolutely beautiful, properly the most beautiful person Justin had ever seen. Just knew he was attracted to both girls and boys, they were all the same to him. He smiled and said, "Hey I'm Justin." Brian returned the smile and nodded "I'm Brian." `Justin gestured for Brian to sit be side him near the edge of the pool. Justin turned to Brian and said, "So I here your my new next door neighbour, welcome to the subs." Brian replied "thanks" and asked Justin "what's it like round here? Justin told him it's ok I guess it's just like your regular up town suburb estate."

Brian nodded and added "I never imagined me and my folks would move into a house in the suburb's, we just came from down town Pittsburgh. Justin asked how come you moved to the subs? Brian replied well my mom is four months pregnant and needed to be closer to work, plus we needed a bigger house as there was not anothe room for another child in our old house and we needed an extra room for the new baby." Brian rolled his eyes and sighed exasperated when he said the word baby. Justin noticed this and asked "I take it you are not looking forward to the new babies arrival." `Brian sighed and ran his hand throughout his hair and replied "no, it's not that, I haven't got a problem with having a new baby brother or sister. It's just that my mom and dad keeping going on about the baby none stop it's all they talk about all of the time. And I've been made to move schools I don't like having to change my way of life when I'm used to and liked the way it was before."

Justin smiled sympathetically and said, "shit that must be beyond irritating. Brian nodded, Justin added so what school are you being made to attend now?" Brian grimaced and replied "I'm being made to a go to some snobby assed private prep school called st James's academe." Justin snickered in reply, Brian raised a single brow and asked "what." Justin grinned and replied "first of all when do you start? brian groaned, first thing Monday morning. Justin grinned and said, in that case I'll guess I will see you on Monday then." Brian blinked and asked, "you mean you actually go there yourself." Justin grinned and nodded "yes." Brian returned the grin and told in that case at least I will have you to talk to."

Justin suddenly start laughing. Brian raised an eye brow in puzzlement and asked, "What are you laughing at?" Justin managed to calm down before he answered. "Well, I was just thinking, you said your mother was four months pregnant with her second child." Brian nodded, "and your point being exactly. Well, as I'm sure you have already noticed my mother is pregnant as well with her second child also." Brian smirked, "how many months a long is she?" Justin groaned and replied "she was exactly six months last Monday." Brian smile apologetically and commented, "so I take it your not looking forward to having a new brother or sister either." Justin scowled and replied "your not half wrong there." Brian smiled slightly and said, "ok then I told you my reason why I'm not jumping up and down in joy over the fact of having a new brother and sister, now why don't you tell me what your reasons are." Justiddeddded, "ok I'll give you three valid reason why having a new baby sister is a problem."

"one, because she will be a female and female siblings are better equipped to get you grounded and rat on you unlike a little brother. Two she will be fourteen years younger then me and that fact makes me feel extremely old even if it does sound petty and ridiculous. And three I will have to put up with a sister with the stupid name Molly." Brian chuckled and told him, "there is a possibility that my mother will end up having a girl as well, and if she does I will be stuck with be stuck with a sister called Cara as my mother has got a serious attachment to that name."

Brian looked to Justin's left and pointed to the still open sketch book and asked, "may I" Justin nodded shyly. It wasn't that he was nervous about being so close to Brian. Of course he was attracted to Brian, he just didn't seem to see the taller hazel eyed boy in that way. That surprised the hell out of Justin, considering here was sitting close to an absolutely drop dead gorgeous guy, who would without a doubt be god like to both men and woman when he was older and started collage. Brain looked through the sketch book, he was about to turn another page when he came across a sketch Justin had drawn of his mother in all her beautiful and radiant pregnant glory. Brian stopped and stare and shook his head in awe at the absolutely beauty and love that had gone into the sketch. He, shit Justin is an absolutely brilliant artist."

Brian looked up at Justin and noticed for the first time since he came out to join Justin, exactly how beautiful and angel like the blond teen was. You could just get lost and drowned in the beautiful deep blue ocean like colour of Justin's eyes. Brian also realised at that moment that he was attracted to Justin, but could never ever see him and the blond teen in a relationship there was just no sexual attraction between them. He could tell straight away that he and Justin were going to be really close friends, more then likely the best of friends. Suddenly both boys heard Joan kinney calling out to them, "boys dinner is ready."
