Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn you have some angry reviewers, MCP!
I went into the television archive to just see what was in there and saw how popular this story is. Thought I'd give it a try and I get why it's so popular. This is some amazing storytelling. And the sex is absolutely the hottest sex around. I don't know what it is about the description you use but it's so damn hot. Wow.
And then I went into the reviews to see what people were saying. People cursing at each other. If your readers are this worked about about your story, that probably means you're writing a pretty compelling story. Discussion is always good. (The part where people are calling each other stupid is ridiculous, though, I have to say. Everyone is going to come at the story differently.)
That being said, I really hope you continue and don't take the negative reviewers to heart. People who call it repetitive, drawn out, "unnecessary angst and nonsense" was used at one point.....there are a lot of us who disagree with that. So please keep writing the way you're writing it. Ignore the naysayers. You do you.
I love what you've given us so far. A lot of us do! And apparently these people are still here and still reading...so ... I don't know what that says other than that they're still highly invested in the story. And that's due to your great storytelling, imo.
Great chapter! Can't wait for more!

I'm going to repeat myself. This is Chuck and Sarah from late Season 1. The only difference is that this story is in Sarah's POV so we can see her emotions instead of simply interpreting Yvonne Strahovski's eyes and body language.
What did Chuck do when Sarah told him it wasn't going anywhere at the end of Truth? He moved on. He looked for something real. But what did he do when Sarah gave him a little tiny bit of hope? He dumped Lou and went back to pining.
Now in the show, Sarah never came out and admitted to him how she felt. Probably the closest was crying on the rooftop in Marlin. They played WT/WT until it made our heads explode. I hope that doesn't happen here.

You can still be invested in the story and yet disagree/dislike the characterization/actions of Sarah or Chuck.
It isn't an 'attack' on the author, it's a review of the current chapter/s, that's it. People need to stop defending MCP so hard, clearly he/she understands it.

Just like anyone is allowed to disagree with parts of the story, I feel like I should be allowed to defend the author. Just like some of the other readers have.
So don't slam those of us who agree with MCP's choices, if you expect us not to slam you for disagreeing.
Great chapter, MCP! Really love this so far. And I'm curious about where this break-in and invasion of privacy is leading. The plot thickens!

Great job again, these last two chapters have been fantastic. Thumbs up for keeping Chuck and Sarah from having sex in this chapter, it just wouldn't have felt right. I hope that Chuck continues to resist the temptation, it'd be disappointing to see him fall back in the old fuck buddy routine. Maybe he can focus on being a good friend to Sarah, seems like she could use one right now.

Probably my least favorite chapter of your story so far...sorry :(
I didn't like Sarah accepting another guy's number, her contradictions are getting irritating, I understand she is confused about everything, but it starts to get tiring (to read) when she won't even be honest with herself internally.
I also didn't like that the tech guy just 'happened' to be Chuck, mostly because it removed Sarah's responsibility in what should have been HER move to get in contact with him, calling him once isn't enough of an attempt to 'fix' things between them.
That leads me on to my next point....I didn't like that Chuck was so open to her when they ran into each other at her work, immediately asking how she was/if she was ok goes against EVERYTHING the 5 weeks~ of no calling suggested. It's a big big contradiction, especially when we can't see Chuck's internal thoughts. I really think this whole thing would have worked better if Chuck was distant and it took actions from Sarah to get him to open up again....him being so open makes no sense at all given their last fight.
Her comparison between Bryce and Chuck (about her being upset) makes no sense either, you have her saying she didn't love Bryce but at the same time your words are having her reactions highlight how she did love him and how heartbroken she was/is. It makes her feelings for Bryce look more serious than anything she might have towards Chuck. Once again...I understand you are writing her as confused but you can't keep being inconsistent when describing her history.
I also just feel that overall the threat on Sarah and her being 'hurt' is a cheap way to get them back together
and talking, it completely sidesteps what conversations and actions should have been taken and it gives Sarah a 'free pass' to call him (I will be gobsmacked if you have Chuck call her).
Sarah HAD to apologize this chapter and she didn't....and it let the whole chapter down if you ask me.
Well written as always, but I just disagree with how you had Sarah approach this, while Chuck's reaction to Sarah makes zero sense in the context of the 5 week communication silence.

Enjoyed this, as always. I don't mind big chunks of plot in my smut, so I may be more open to this than some readers. I didn't find Chuck's reactions to be unrealistic. He cares for Sarah, he just felt that it wasn't being reciprocated because of her fears, as he alluded to in their fight. And Sarah is still as confused as ever. She knows she blew it, she knows she misses him, but she is still too afraid to accept that she is emotionally flee to him. She is broken to the point that she almost has an adult version of reactive attachment disorder. He cares enough to be worried about her being hurt/stalked, but he won't fall back in bed with her without her reaching out and apologizing. That talk won't happen at her workplace, I think.

Correction: that she is emotionally drawn to him.

I honestly don't understand Sarah at all. She claims that she never truly loved bryce, but she's so hurt and heartbroken from then end of their relationship that she's terrified about putting herself out there emotionally again. If she never truly loved him how can she be so hurt and scared of love and relationships? Think how chuck was the computer repair guy was too coincidental. It gave Sarah the opportunity to speak and see chuck again without having to work for it. I can understand chuck being worried and asking about her wellbeing cause that's the kind of guy he is, but I still think it needs a major apology from Sarah before he jumps back into bed with her. Also didn't like the fact that Sarah give another man her number especially because she had no interest in him. Can imagine he will phone her enough times that she will eventually give into him though especially if chuck doesn't call Sarah for sex. I just can't understand why Sarah won't at least admit to herself that she has feelings for chuck, she doesn't have to show them to the world but she should at least admit them too herself. Think you missed an opportunity her with carina, maybe she could have been in the precinct and she flirted with chuck cause she thought he was cute, would of been interesting with Sarah's reaction especially if carina scored a date with chuck.
