The job of a fanfic writer is to take the characters from the show, put your own spin on them, yet leave them recognizable.
Sarah had a core conflict on the show. She had a CIA Agent duty to uphold. But she loved this guy. Many times she had to make decisions that weren’t in Chuck’s best interest. And while she never fucked information out of him (8:00 show) she certainly used his feelings for her to get him to do things she wanted. That happened all the time. And finally that core conflict came to a head. Sarah was forced to make a decision. Do her duty and take Chuck to a bunker? Or commit treason and protect him? She came close to choosing the former. But she found that she just couldn’t do it. It was the climax of the show to that date.
I think you have nailed them perfectly here. The Sarah in this story is facing the same dilemma. I predict a similar outcome.
It’s pretty depressing reading the reviews. People who have a problem with this, must have a problem with the show that it’s based on.
So, MCP. Please don’t get discouraged. Give us that romantic scene of Sarah’s walls being broken down and her making that life changing decision.

Loved this chapter! I like that she's opening up more o Chuck and trying to get over her fears over her feelings for Chuck. My theory on her secret is she found her mother murdered and that's why her father hugged her when he picked her up from the Millers house. This also explains why she became a cop and is afraid to get close to people. As for her using sex to interrogate Chuck, wives and girlfriends have been doing that forever, lol! Also, on the show she used her sex appeal to try and get information in season five when Chuck had a secret about looking for a house. In other words completely in line with her character. Keep up the good work.

Awesome chapter. Sarah's really opening up and trusting chuck now. And she's starting to think that's chucks hers, that's interesting. Judging by her nightmare, she's definitely suffered something bad in her past, hopefully chuck can help her through that. The sex was hot as always, and chucks confession about being a hacker should make for an interesting conversation in the next chapter. Hope you update as quickly with the next chapter.

Chapter was fantastic up until they had Sex where Sarah basically used Chuck in a disgusting way to get information out him. Instead of being mature and having a conversation with him that explains why she wouldn't get him in trouble, she fucks him and gets information out of him anyway. It's just so cheap. It also wasn't easy to read, in terms of the structure and how it was written.
Also you had her say this:
"his eyes still full of lust in spite of the fact that I was currently interrogating him. Sort of. I didn’t typically fuck the suspects I was interrogating."
...."I didn't typically..." = Which implies that she has fucked suspects before to get information out of them during an "interrogation" which just makes her look worse.
You probably don't agree, but this chapter did a lot of damage to Sarah as a character in my eyes. Hugely disappointing.
I've been critical before, but her 'interrogation' was such a poor decision for this story.

What the hell? So Sarah makes it a habit of screwing guys to get information out of them?
You spend the first half of the chapter showing how important she views Chuck, and then spend the last section completely destroying that and making her look like a whore. You can't show that connection she feels towards Chuck if you're then just going to make her use sex to get info out of him.

I am really interested to see where they go from here. I like this new turn. She hasn't taken the actual plunge into a relationship, but she's trying, inching her way into it. And I love that Chuck is so understanding. I think that fits with canon perfectly. Just like in canon, he sees Sarah's feelings, because he cares enough about her to be observant. He feels it between them, sees it in her face, or in the way she protects him, how she goes above and beyond what a handler is "supposed" to do. But then he also understands that there are things preventing her from acting on those feelings. Whether it's just the fact that she's his handler and he's her asset, or if it's something personally going on with her. And he doesn't ever push in the show. Just like he isn't pushing here. Because he recognizes there's something important there holding her back. So instead of pushing and making her run away, he is gentle and understanding, trying to help her work through it. I don't see what's so wrong about that, especially since it's obvious he's in love with her.
And you make sacrifices for people you love. Nothing weird in that. Especially with type of guy we know Chuck is.
Like others have said, though, there seems to be some underlying psych issues with Sarah, maybe some trauma that has never been appropriately dealt with. That should be interesting going forward. And also the stuff about Chuck maybe being a hacker. He did know quite a bit about how to maneuver through those channels. If he's out-hacking a hacker like Fulcrum, it seems like he's got experience there. Oooohhhh secrets!!!! This will be fun!
Great chapter!

Full disclosure. I am so obsessed with this story. I've read through all 19 chapters a few times now. I even have it on my phone so that I can just pull it up and read it when waiting for my bus or on the train to work. I sometimes read it AT WORK. Which is really bad. But oh well. Haha.
This is better than all of the erotica novels I've read put together. And now that you're delving into some actual plot with intrigue and Fulcrum attacking Sarah for reasons we still don't know...and the hint that Chuck is more than he lets on..........all of that build up with Chuck not getting a POV in the story, just having it be first person Sarah POV, so that we get as much about him as she does................Wow. Just wow. I tell you what, I've been in Chuck-is-perfect land this whole story. He's so open and has nothing to hide and wears his heart on his sleeve and he's the sweetest and and and and and...... But then with the last few chapters, I'm like holy shit he's hiding something!!! Just like it seems like Sarah is a little bit. Or maybe I'm projecting. But what's he hiding? Does he have some connection to Fulcrum i wonder? like he knows who this person is? IS CHUCK A PROFESSIONAL HACKER?????? Has Sarah been sleeping with a criminal all this time? Whoa whoa whoa! I cannot wait for more!!! I'm going to read this over again.
Also, I really have to agree with Dominic. If something huge happened to Sarah with her parents when she was a kid, as it looks like you're hinting it did, she probably needs professional help. I reeeally like that about her character. Makes the narrator a little unreliable and that's some awesome stuff to pull off with something I thought would just be a simple (good!) sex fan fic. I wonder if you'll have her seek help, or maybe Chuck will nudge her in that direction? If she won't tell him, maybe she can tell someone else?

Ok, first of all WOW! I love this story! One question, what happened to Sarah that her Dad had to go pick her up from the Miller's? Your Sarah is actually more open than the show's because she isn't forbidden from being with him. Also like in the show she believes she's too screwed up to be with someone as good as Chuck is. That coupled with her fear of getting hurt again is preventing her from embracing the feelings she's finally acknowledging that she has for Chuck. I don't understand those that think Chuck would walk away from Sarah, I mean think about all the angst from the first three seasons of the show. Chuck loved her and would do anything to make her happy, even if he thought it was her being with Shaw. He'd rather stay friends with her than lose her. Now, everyone's entitled to their opinions and this in mine so please don't think I'm attacking others for theirs. Can't wait for next chapter!
