It would be great, if you continued this story. I like the idea, because although he was always trying to get the best for himself Slope didn't appear to be a bad character to me (maybe because he was played by Alan Rickman but not only). His mistake was to go against the wishes of the bishop's wife who had the most influence in the story. So great idea!

I had NO idea there were Barchester Chronicle stories out there until today! I've been dying to see the series, but alas - I haven't yet. I think this story is great fun. I can't help but see him as a sort of Snape-as-vicar but perhaps if I'd seen the series I'd feel differently. Anyway, looking forward to more of this story.

This is so much fun - I love it.
The way you describe his shirt is veeeery hot - open neck, sleeves rolled up, mmm. I always like those voluminous white lawn-cotton numbers the men wear in period dramas. The conversation between Obadiah and Eleanor has definite echoes of that scene at the garden party where she (silly woman) rejects his proposal... "Sweetest angel, be not so cold"...SLAP! Thud! I love that scene; and he does talk about 'possessing' her, if I remember correctly. In fact, you have inspired me to dig out my DVD and watch this all over again.
Well, this is most enjoyable; I'm looking forward to more.

LMAO, I can't believe it! I thought I was the only person in the world to be considering writing an Obadiah Slope fanfic...and now here you are. Doooo write some more. I have adored Rickman ever since watching this on TV when I was 12, and I have such a soft spot for him in this role. Hell, I might even write one myself once I've got all the Snape-smut out of my system. (Like that day will ever come...)
